I also gave up on black sands

which is rare for me but as much as I love subtitles

I want English in the background 😂

I did enjoy this though

have seen all of Agatha

can’t think of what the other police drama I was watching. Think was on bbc afternoons and half the village seemed to be related

they lived in a costal bit. Had a pub police station and that’s about it

set reminded me of ballamory due to house colours

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2022 16:06

Yes that’s it’s @lazymum99

lazymum99 · 03/12/2022 16:49

I’ve watched all 3 now @LadyEloise1 they are showing as BBC Scotland
@Blondeshavemorefun I found Hope street by googling Irish police drama bbc. Not a very sophisticated method 😅

lazymum99 · 03/12/2022 16:51

And iPlayer is showing 2 series.

LadyEloise1 · 03/12/2022 17:51

I can only get BBC 1&2 Northern Ireland.
Anyone know when ep 2&3 will be shown there ?

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 03/12/2022 19:26

Why do they drive along the beach so much?

HairyKitty · 03/12/2022 22:15

Am definitely no expert but the Davis Lindos character’s accent sounds annoyingly fake to me, as soon as I notice I can’t stop noticing!

Figgygal · 04/12/2022 20:26

I'm fae Aberdeen
Theyve played Round with geography so much I can't take it seriously not to mention the accents

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 04/12/2022 20:59

Surely to god there must be Aberdonian actors

I didn’t spot a one.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/12/2022 22:37

@lazymum99 im impressed with your skills

not your binging 😂😛

Is this really the best they can do? Terrible script. Horrible Scottish police with the exception of 'Bart'. How many days did they film in Aberdeen? Hardly any as they keep showing the same bits of film constantly along by the beach. I am wondering if they have completely avoided Union Street because there are so many closed-down businesses there now.
Similarly slow vibe to Shetland (gone downhill massively) but without any likeable characters.
I have watched 2 of 3 and really couldn't care less who did it.

BringMeTea · 05/12/2022 19:52

Yeah I am just watching for 'spot the location'. I think someone really did pitch it as a 'Scottish Death in Paradise' but Aberdeen, lovely though it is, is no St Marie. Also, feels very budgety... shame.

daffodilandtulip · 05/12/2022 20:24

Caught up on ep1. I like it. I think they're going to be an interesting team.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 05/12/2022 20:35

I’m just so disappointed they went for this as opposed to going for Stuart MacBride’s Logan McRae series.

those books would make a worthy rival to Morse/Taggart/Rebus etc.

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 05/12/2022 20:35

I still like it though 😁

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/12/2022 20:49

I liked it

but regulars know I’m easily pleased

only seen e1

assume 2 on this week. Must check planner

My OH commented that as the white van was driving at speed into a dead end down Windmill Brae at the end of episode 1 they would be quite easy to catch!

Thought the bits of Aberdeen seen looked good though the flat near the harbour was definitely somewhere else - Dundee maybe? Some odd shots driving along streets of honey-coloured sandstone houses that looked like Glasgow/Edinburgh and some very odd station to flat journeys like Robin Hood going home via Hadrian's Wall, though maybe he was just sightseeing!

Marischal College looked imposing and there was a wee glimpse of Mackies lovely ice-cream parlour as well. Not many local accents but then Aberdeen is fairly cosmopolitan and full of Scottish people from all over.

Will watch next week!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/12/2022 18:45

@TabbyM i love watching stuff that is local
