Can't see a thread. What is this shite?

Watched episode 2 and, although I really didn’t think I would, I’m loving it!
I’m still not entirely clear on how someone wins it but I’m enjoying the human behaviour element.
Demonstrates the sheep in most of us.

When someone is “murdered” in the night, do they automatically get evicted and don’t show at breakfast?

Will be interesting if one half of the couple is murdered....

UWhatNow · 30/11/2022 22:29

The failing of the whole game for me is that the ‘traitors’ don’t have to do anything that could particularly out them. No secret tasks or additional incentives. They only meet and choose someone to ‘murder’ but that role won’t leak during the daytime tasks for which they’re all equally invested.

So at the voting it all basically falls into being a popularity contest with the middle-aged women being the least liked. Very disappointing and dull.

burnoutbabe · 30/11/2022 22:31

I assume there will be a final 3 and they share the prize. Unless there is a traitor there and then they get it.

Depends how many get to the final.

I assume they didn't pick either of the couple to be a traitor as they'd tell the other.

It was quite alarming how Nicki got targeted. And quite uncomfortable. She is a person with an obvious difference due to having lost her hand, did that contribute? Or was it more about her personality and not rubbing along easily with people?

It seemed to me that everyone just jumped on the bandwagon to deflect away from themselves.
Yes, it was very uncomfortable. She did well in the way she reacted.

sailingsunshine · 30/11/2022 22:49

I'm enjoying it much more than I expected! How long does it run for?

mrsbyers · 30/11/2022 22:55

I watched the Australian version recently , a lot less hysteria on that one

MissMarpleRocks · 30/11/2022 23:01

I’m fascinated by the way & how the majority got to name Nicky. It shows we all want to fly under the radar as much as possible. I did enjoy Nicky telling them they were wrong & their ‘oh shit’ faces. Especially the ex policewoman’s.

MajesticWhine · 30/11/2022 23:14

Anyone that steps slightly out of line with a different opinion is going to stick out and risk being targeted. So conforming with the group is safer. It's like bullies in school.

Adultchildofelderlyparents · 30/11/2022 23:38

£120K is not really that much for a TV programme prize. I'm surprised it's not something more like half a million.

tobee · 30/11/2022 23:42

Nothing happens! One game of bell ringing. I don't know how they are making any guesses about anything?

I only watched tonight mind.

Trying to work out what the producers are going for really. Feel the older woman is a bit "token".

I'd be extremely rubbish at this game and far too anxious. Quite like the swanning about the castle and eating the breakfast! Shame you don't get to see them eating and drinking etc as they'd get more of a feel for their personalities etc.

It's BBC though. They don't have the dosh.

Largely agree

heartbroken22 · 30/11/2022 23:44

I thought it was a drama but when I read the info I wished it was a drama!

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 01/12/2022 00:10

I liked it! It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

the80sweregreat · 01/12/2022 06:43

I didn't see the first one, but yesterday I was wondering how the three traitors were able to meet up without any of the others becoming suspicious!
I know it's a big place.
I need to see the first one
I liked it, but the constant hugging and they way they behave is a bit off putting! Claudia was ok

user374698 · 01/12/2022 07:01

Not watched it as I thought it was every night, I see it's just 3 nights a week so will catch up on iPlayer as people seem to like it. Tonight's clashes with I'm a celebrity so I will get all caught up for next week's episodes.

They all get driven off separately to their rooms (one assumes its rooms in the grounds as the rooms look stately) so three cars just double back.

awaynboilyurheid · 01/12/2022 08:54

Do the get locked in their rooms though or you surely would look out and see who was going back later that night?
Nicki was bossy in the tasks so stood out more, I think they thought she was a threat so that’s why she had to go.

the80sweregreat · 01/12/2022 09:20

Oh ok! I need to watch Tuesdays one.
It has a sinister feel to it.

Samcro · 01/12/2022 10:01

i didn't like that Nicky was targeted. seemed off.
hope blonde flirt, goes soon, don't like the way she is playing skater boy.\trouble is a lot of them come across so unlikable.

pattihews · 01/12/2022 10:49

I've found it uncomfortable that the first person to be murdered was a black woman and then at the round table Fay and Imran, both minorities, were picked on by the rest of the group before a disabled woman, Nicky, was voted out. And of course in the first game there was a lot of ageism and ableism openly expressed. Depressing. A reminder that anyone who's different or doesn't go along with the sheeple is in danger.

tobee · 30/11/2022 23:43

I'm sure Claudia is being paid handsomely.

Anyone who says sheeple should be in danger!

I ended up watching most of last night's after saying I wouldn't because DS1 put it on. I don't know whether to be scared or proud of my fellow country woman with her crocodile tears and psychotic tendencies.

@pattihews exactly - I thought the same, glad not just me.
