Also on Owen's hunger, MT is a bigger build, moreso than Owen and he never goes on about food or has the others wanting to feed him up. I think the show has just been edited to show the others all wanting to mother and look after Owen.

Taslah · 18/11/2022 07:55

Interesting how Mike referred to himself as a professional sportsman but Jill as an EX professional sportswoman!

Ponesta · 18/11/2022 08:00

I love these threads but the bickering and nastiness on this one is horrible. It's just a tv programme. We're all allowed to like or dislike different people. And having a difference of opinion isn't bullying.

I think MH has a lot of questions to answer (as do others) about the handling of the pandemic. But it doesn't stop me liking him in the jungle. He's ok.
I didn't like BG before (I'm old enough to remember him the first time he was on TOTP) and I don't like him in the jungle. I like Jill and Scarlet. And despite him being awful earlier on I've started to get a soft spot for Chris. I can't stand Charlene or snidey Sue. And I've taken an irrational dislike to Mike. Not sure about Seann and Owen is just
Meh.

Well, seeing as everyone is so fond of hypothetical questions, would you think it was ok if Jill was named in the title for instance?

I genuinely would give no shits whatsoever.

I have real problems in life, I wouldn’t care if the title called her a cunt

PatientZorro · 18/11/2022 08:08

😂love the thread title, I couldn’t agree more! Scarlette to win.

PrincessScarlett · 18/11/2022 08:09

@Ponesta totally agree re the nastiness on this thread. No, having a different opinion isn't bullying but trying to get people of this thread time and time again is.

Please please please can we get on with commenting on the show rather than attacking each other.

*off the thread not 'of' 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ooh I missed that!

How long is there left?

Owen and food. I understand he’s hungry, but they’re all hungry. Why does Owen and all the others seem to think Owen must be fed so much more? It’s getting on my nerves. They’re all talking as if he’s 8ft tall and really muscly. He’s really not that big, he’s no more hungry than the rest of them.

He’s young though. You really don’t need so much food as you get older.

Also he’s not the most cerebral. He needs his head filling with something and there’s nothing much to do in the jungle.

wewishyouamerrychristmas · 18/11/2022 06:41

When did they announce it was a vote to stay? I completely missed it last night although reading this has made me vote for Jill and Owen to stay.

When Ant and Dec said someone was leaving on Friday, they said you’re voting to keep your favourites in. Then they read out the general phone number. And then when they read out each persons name they said things like ‘if Scarlett is your favourite add (number)’ or ‘if you want to keep Jill in add (number).’

I’m surprised so many people seem to have missed that it is vote to keep in/save, when they said it for every single person in there when reading out the numbers.

ancientgran · 18/11/2022 08:39

WhatisanODP · 17/11/2022 22:18

I voted to keep Matt in.

All 5 votes. I loves him 😁

weirdly most my NHS and care home friends don’t hate him either.

you know, because he’s a MP not a medic.

he was told what to say by people higher up. And he certainly didn’t wander into the hospitals or carehomes and give the residents covid.

Its only relatives that are looking for someone to blame. They didn’t come into ITU and see what covid was doing to people. Matt Hancock has no blood on his hands. Chris Whitty - maybe.

I was in work yesterday in a care home. Everyone was much more MH and didn't like BG.

I hated some of the stuff that went on with covid, particularly the pushing people into care homes without tests but I always felt MH was being used as the fall guy by people like Dominic Raab and Boris Johnson. I think that even more watching the show, he's so willing to do the trials and win food for people, I think he was probably just as willing to go out there and do his best for Boris. There's a feeling of one of the boys at school who's willing to do anything for the big cool boys to likehim.

xalo · 18/11/2022 08:43

Agreed that MH was probably the fall guy for BJ.

burnoutbabe · 18/11/2022 08:51

Miss03852 · 18/11/2022 00:34

I have absolutely no idea why people expect multi-million pound media companies to actually be morally upstanding and ‘do the right thing

Exactly. I haven’t watched this show for years and only did because of the huge publicity surrounding signing MH.

Same! I think I last watched every single one in the Katie /Peter time. Else it was just watch if nothing else on /last 20 mins waiting for news.

Everyone would agree that was awful- if it actually happened...

awaynboilyurheid · 18/11/2022 09:12

Enjoyed last night and the trial with Mike Gill and Owen, Sean was funny when Owen firstly didn’t throw any balls his colour then the ones he did missed completely, he does try to stay out of all the snide comments when spoken to by the others.
Scarlett comes over well this will do her career a lot if good she’s really helped Baba complete the trial. Good to see others doing trials, Sue seems to have done zero yet she got to go on the beach barbecue.

awaynboilyurheid · 18/11/2022 09:23

As for MH, the cabinet ( and Tory party)seem to have all been in thrall with Boris Johnstone even before covid and during it, no idea why cannot stand him, but shouting and blustering seems to mean people bought the funny old Boris shtick ( and not the I’m a conniving bstard reality ) and while not forgetting MH part, he does look like he would go just along with whatever he said ( just realised that sounds a bit of a Nazi Germany reference of “I was just obeying orders” )
But given that I think he is trying his best and does well in the trials.

LikeTearsInRain · 18/11/2022 09:39

Get Lazy Susan go do a trial or vote her out

Honeyroar · 18/11/2022 09:53

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 18/11/2022 08:12

Ooh I missed that!

I did too. I thought he referred to them both as professionals.

PaulGallico · 18/11/2022 10:11

I was expecting a few entertaining stories about being a royal (I guess MT isn't allowed or just isn't very entertaining) a few stories from the 1980's - but it's all about BG and some humour. Sadly there is little humour. MH is still the elephant in the room with people being nice to his face and then nasty behind his back - making them look like playground bullies. I also think that because the programme is less funny and struggling with MH and his politics this thread is the same.

Yes, I noticed that as well 🤔

the80sweregreat · 18/11/2022 10:40

Mike is an ex pro as well !
He was just having a dig maybe ?

FitYeDaeinYeMadRadge · 18/11/2022 10:42

I think it would have been a better camp if he hadn’t gone in.

he is competent, he’s a machine at getting stars but well fed camp mates don’t necessarily make good telly. The trials were dominated by him and it meant we saw less of everyone else.

I prefer to watch someone shriek a bit, not be on the verge of a panic attack, but gipping or saying IACGMOOH. I like hungry camp mates. I like to see who will be low enough to steal food. It’s what makes it for me.

2Rebecca · 18/11/2022 10:43

I voted Jill and Matt. I like Owen but his whininess about being the hungriest there and feeling sorry for himself and enjoying getting mummied is silly. He knew what he was signing up for, it's just 3 weeks. I won't vote for BG but don't want him out yet, would rather Sue, Sharlene or baba went. Baba's another man child.
