The Blue Peter tune is very eeeeeeek

Inkanta · 17/10/2022 16:18

Yes not keen Blue Peter tune for some reason I can't explain. I'm rooting for Helen though who's dancing to the tune.

Wheredoallthepensgo · 17/10/2022 16:24

Ooh I think Ellie T and Jojo have a toughie, that could be tricky.

I'm so happy I'll be at the Legally Blonde musical on Saturday instead of having to sit through that dreck.

You don’t have to sit through it, FKA. I don’t know why anyone would when they think it’s ‘dreck.’ For all our complaints and heated debates, we watch the show and discuss it on this thread because we’re fans of Strictly.

Enjoy Legally Blonde😄

ChessieFL · 17/10/2022 16:26

At least this week I can look at the list of songs and know almost all of them! Usually I only know about two when I read the list (although I usually recognise a couple more when I actually hear them). The only ones I don’t know this week are the Line of Duty theme as I’ve never seen it, or Hamza’s nature themed one.

ArcaneWireless · 17/10/2022 16:37

Love Ballroom Blitz.

I just hope she goes it laldy.

ArcaneWireless · 17/10/2022 16:37

Gies

EsmaCannonball · 17/10/2022 16:38

I will howl if they make one of the singers do Anyone Can Fall In Love.

Here's a horrible thought: have they given Nikita The Apprentice so they can deploy his Donald Trump hair?

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 17:41

Ellie and Nikita: Paso Doble to Montagues and Capulets, celebrating The Apprentice works
Ellie and Johannes: Tango to Casualty Theme Tune, celebrating Casualty erm
Fleur and Vito: Jive to Waterloo by ABBA, celebrating Eurovision bland
Helen and Gorka: Charleston to Blue Peter Theme Tune, celebrating Blue Peter ok
Jayde and Karen: Charleston to The Ballad of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It) by Victoria Wood, celebrating BBC Comedy erm Will Karen slap Jayde on the arse with a rolled-up Woman's Weekly?
Kym and Graziano: Quickstep to Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, celebrating Come Dancing odd they haven't gone for something else like radio, news or weather but the track is fine, been used before
Molly and Carlos: Couples' Choice to Grange Hill Theme Tune, celebrating BBC Children's Programming recycle Tilly/Jamie uniforms, why not? Is it wrong to want a massive CGI sausage to hone into view?
Hamza and Jowita: Quickstep to On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons, celebrating BBC Nature Programming choon. This is my happy song
James and Amy: Foxtrot to EastEnders Theme Tune, celebrating EastEnders yawn unless Anita Dobson comes in to guest warble
Tony and Katya: Cha Cha Cha to Grandstand Theme Tune, celebrating BBC Sport works
Tyler and Dianne: Tango to Doctor Who Theme Tune, celebrating Doctor Who been done, didn't need it again I would have bloody loved some Murray Gold instead though. Doomsday is fab.

Will and Nancy: Viennese Waltz to Line of Duty End Titles, celebrating Drama Is it this?

It could have been worse, I guess. Had they followed the RuPaul BBC celebration template we could have ended up with Rastamouse

Mr Blobby or Pudsey! That said, they could have recycled Bear necessities? and worn the his n hers headband Pudsey ears with polkadot costumes Patsy Stone would have been better for Jayde than Victoria Wood. Not sure what you'd dance to it though. (Still think she should have done her disco dancing cc to On the Radio (Donna Summer) celebrating radio) Maybe they can get Kylie to sing murder it on the results show?

Antiques Roadshow for a group dance?

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 18:02

As regards Eurovision, I guess everyone does think Abba, but I reckon I'd have rehashed Deborah Meaden's Making your mind up jive or gone for Rise Like a Phoenix, which I love, love, love
Spaceman still sounds good after a year but Netherlands Ding a dong always makes me smile!

(Have posted these before - the showdance is fab with the I'm going to fly assisted walkover hand-spring thing (2.39) but I'd also have the dress reveal at 1.39 from the skating routine (if they can make the Cinders magic reveal dress for Katya, they could make me a gold reveal dress!) I know Rise like a phoenix was used in Eurovision week on DWTS Ireland but that's the one franchise I have sadly never been able to access. There are random bits on youtube but not many (I also wanted to see the Kill Bill routine as done by someone other than Anneka).
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 17/10/2022 18:03

I wonder why they didn't use Come Dancing by The Kinks for Kym's quickstep instead of Ballroom Blitz. Ballroom Blitz sounds way too fast for a quickstep to me, her feet be a blur they'll be moving so fast.

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 18:18

Love Come dancing by The Kinks. Great call. I assume they were looking to recycle so Dave Arch and co had less to do.

SolInvictus · 17/10/2022 18:25

Oh yes! The Kinks would have been fab!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 17/10/2022 18:28

I wonder why they didn't use Come Dancing by The Kinks for Kym's quickstep instead of Ballroom Blitz...

Ah... The Kinks ‘Come Dancing’ is one of my all time favourite tracks. I’d have loved to see a dance to that.

keepcalm11 · 17/10/2022 18:39

Ummmm, so Goss has moved on to his next job already , was that pre planned ?

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 18:42
Bluffinwithmymuffin · 17/10/2022 18:43

Watching ITT (for once). How sweet and gracious was Matt? I’ve completely revised my opinion of him since the start.

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 18:44

What's his next job?

ArcaneWireless · 17/10/2022 18:47

Me too bluffin

It whooshes me right back and now, cracking on a bit, I really, really get it.

A beautiful song that sounds upbeat but makes my heart ache.

I’m a kinks kinda girl.

keepcalm11 · 17/10/2022 18:47

Something with the Philharmonic orchestra, he wasnt in the stuidio for ITT

Fizbosshoes · 17/10/2022 18:47

Thanks for the line of duty music. I love the show, but couldn't immediately bring to mind the theme music. I started feeling tense as soon as I heard it!🤣

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 19:08

This is really bugging me so hoping someone can help! I remember a professional dance on strictly, think it was a launch dance, where they were in houses and woke up and danced their way down the streets. I remember thinking it was the best opening dance ever but can’t find it and am now wondering if I imagined it! Can anyone else remember it?! Thank you!

Anyone help? This thread here

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 17/10/2022 19:28

@ArcaneWireless

Exactly how I feel. All the old dancehalls gone forever that were still great venues back in the 80s... I could go on 😥

SequinsandStilettos · 17/10/2022 19:33

Think above, she means the porn train (copyright Monkseal) from 2015 but she has not confirmed yet.
Do all the Northern Soul clubs still exist?
Are they like the Moloko video? am living vicariously again

ilovebrie8 · 17/10/2022 19:40

Watched ITT don’t normally but I wanted to see Matt, he wasn’t in the studio as he’s rehearsing ! How lovely and gracious he was I think he’s fab and hope he is successful with his song. Nadiya and Kai have been a good support by sounds of it!
