...Shirley's bun, Motsi's many little buns, and Craig.

Previous thread here

Glitterball As always, a reminder that this is a SPOILER-FREE THREAD, so please don't comment on the result before the result show. Glitterball

Oh god, the BBC theme week. On the other thread we'd already decided that Molly and Carlos are going to do Hyacinth Bucket and Onslow, so what else could we have?

Johannes is tall enough to do Officer Crabtree and Ellie would make a very passable Michelle of the Resistance.

Ellie and Nikita: Den and Angie, the one with the divorce papers.

Jayde and Karen: Mavis Cruet and the Evil Edna.

Tyler and Dianne: when Nicholas Witchell sat on the lesbians. (She's Nicholas, obviously.)

Will and Nancy: paso doble - Dickie Davies vs. Des Lynam.

Fleur and Vito: Triangle - Couple's Choice, based on her passion for making Airfix models of North Sea ferries.

Matt and Nadiya: rumba - Reginald Perrin and Joan Greengross.

James and Amy: that big kitten on The Goodies.

Tony and Katya: Argentine tango - Fanny and Johnnie Cradock's cheese and wine soirée.

These are all the obvious ones. Can't think of the others.

You’ve forgotten Paxman interviewing Michael Howard on Newsnight and asking him the same question twelve times. A tango or a paso possibly?

ChessieFL · 16/10/2022 16:19

I want a Nessa and Smithy tango. Not sure which couple would do that justice though…..

EvilRingahBitch · 16/10/2022 16:45

On Digital Spy someone has made the quite excellent suggestion of a Viennese Waltz to the theme from Sherlock.

The same thread has some spoilers from the results show for what they're actually doing, behind a spoiler tag, if you're interested. No explicit spoilers for who goes out, but obviously the seven celebs who are listed all stay in, so there's implicit spoiling.

ExtraOnions · 16/10/2022 16:49

I’ve been part of the Digi Spy spoiler thread for years … in fact, I gave the spoiler one week, when I was in the audience.

The guy who posts the spoiler gets the information from more than one place - it’s kept within the spoiler thread … and it’s never stopped my watching Sunday (though I rarely watch it anyway)

mrstea301 · 16/10/2022 16:56

I've always fancied seeing an Argentine tango to Love is the Drug by Roxy Music!

Oh yes! Good one
Roxy music made some very sexy tunes !!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/10/2022 17:01

The Pride and Prejudice theme tune maybe?

Inkanta · 16/10/2022 17:08

Brian Ferry's Avalon would make a good rumba.

EvilRingahBitch · 16/10/2022 17:16

A Rumba to In Each Dreamhome a Heartache would get the complaints lines ringing.
Could you quickstep to Virginia Plain?

EsmaCannonball · 16/10/2022 18:24

It's a shame that Bring Me Sunshine was danced to just last year as that would have been perfect for BBC Week. Perhaps they could do another Morecambe and Wise musical number, such as the breakfast sketch with The Stripper music?

Jay from The Repair Shop did an Only Fools and Horses routine at Christmas.

Brian Conley did a Hi-de-Hi themed jive but, strangely, not to the Hi-de-Hi theme tune (which couldn't have been more perfect for the jive).

I, for one, cannot wait for all the pros from Italy and Ukraine and China to have to pretend they are au fait enough with Grange Hill and Howard's Way to the extent that they can choreograph a routine around them. Jason Gilkson's probably on the phone right now, 'No, no, Vito! She's not a cat and you're not a peacock. She's in the mauve wig, the lift opens, and before the music starts she says, "I'm sorry I'm late, Captain Peacock, but my pussy got stuck in the cat-flap." Then you go into the paso doble.'

IReallyLikeCrows · 16/10/2022 18:31

I'd love it if there was a dance to the Shipping Forecast, Sailing By. That piece of music is so soft and gentle. I listen most nights because it makes me feel light. I would absolutely love to have a chance to read the Shipping Forecast.

I don't always go to find the spoilers, especially early on because I tend not to really care that much. I did my first one of the series this week. I think that the people on Digital Spy are really good at keeping the spoiler within the spoiler thread. I certainly never share it unless a friend asks.

I read the Mail article about the BBC trying to find the mole. Ha! As if the BBC care. They know that people will still tune in and they probably also know that it would be impossible to stop the news from getting out. If they really wanted it to remain secret they'd either have to put the results show back on a Saturday night or really have the show on Sunday with no one knowing what the votes had been until the live show. They won't because they don't care. I do wish they'd bloody stop pretending the Sunday show was live though like just about every other Strictly fan in the country.

I want a Bloodlands themed one. Will pretending to find bars of gold and making Very Evil Expressions as Brannick. His partner could be Olivia, over dramatically storming around in a fascinator/veil and trouser suit complete with cape.

Sunbird24 · 16/10/2022 19:05

Something to the theme tune from Call the Midwife? Dancers could be Sheila and Dr Turner, as they seem to get more storyline than the actual midwives these days…

Brilliant idea.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/10/2022 19:18

DD6's prediction tonight is that it will be "James Bye-bye".

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 19:20

Ghosts could be a fun theme as well.

The must be something Blue Peter and Doctor Who related.

Here we go. More same sex couples. I think we've covered that one

Neil!

Sunbird24 · 16/10/2022 19:21

Although I’m not sure it counts if he’s actually dancing…

keepcalm11 · 16/10/2022 19:22

Claud 'lets have a look back at Saturday night '😂

Simonjt · 16/10/2022 19:22

That was a lovely opening dance, despite a pesky unnatural looking same sex couple

Piggywaspushed · 16/10/2022 19:23

Two simon! there were two! Ye Gods !

GrouchyKiwi · 16/10/2022 19:23

Pro dance was good for a change. Luba is excellent at emoting, and she's a lovely dancer to watch. I wish she had a partner more often.

Appears I’m so gay I can’t see straight 🤣 I just saw the women
