...Shirley's bun, Motsi's many little buns, and Craig.

Glitterball As always, a reminder that this is a SPOILER-FREE THREAD, so please don't comment on the result before the result show. Glitterball

Nadiya did well with Dan Walker.

PurplePositivity · 16/10/2022 11:37

Just caught up with Strictly from last, OMG Hamza and Fleur were both on fire and Shirley would have booted her off last week Hmm

Inkanta · 16/10/2022 11:47

YES the mole might be one of Deve Arch Band members. Ha haaaas gotcha!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 11:51

I found out years later that I'd seen Danny Mac dancing (and singing) pre-Strictly. He was in Wicked when I saw it in 2011.

I always imagine that the strictly spoiler bloke is touting outside the studio with cash for someone to spill the beans 😂

I think the spolier is so famous now there must be someone from the audience each week that is more than happy to talk. Personally I wish they would just do the results on Saturday night. Everyone knows it's filmed straight after the live show and the results show always seems to be so padded out.

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 16/10/2022 12:10

If I were a member of the crew that was giving the spoiler I would make sure that occasionally when I was there I didn't give the spoiler so if I was absent one week it wasn't obvious that it was me.

Samcro · 16/10/2022 12:26

i had never heard of Jade before Scd
she is boring(as it Molly) hope she goes today.

Maireas · 16/10/2022 12:27

I just wish Jayde would enjoy it. It seems to be all about her making a statement and getting emotional. Heavy going.

ilovebrie8 · 16/10/2022 12:28

Claymorekick · 16/10/2022 10:24

And in other news, Jayde is getting right on my nerves - each week, she grates on me more Confused

Yep 100% fed up of her just stomping about and no dancing! Grossly over marked last night it’s getting stupid! She should be out tonight if any fairness...😳
Hamza was amazing!
Molly and the Ellie that dances with Johannes I find meh!
Kim is wooden and not what I expected.
My faves are Matt, Will and Hamza.
I like Helen too and I think Gorka was sticking up for her and has obviously seen a lot this week and felt it needing saying...big sure Helen wanted it by look in her face but he was meaning well for sure ...go Gorka!

NooNakedJacuzziness · 16/10/2022 12:39

I hope they bin the sob stories for a bit now. Matt hasn't made a fuss about having Poland syndrome or that he had a sister who died. Get back to the dancing. Was never a Brossette back in the day but I'm warming to Matt and he is improving a bit, which is sort of the point of the show. It's a bit dull when they're getting 9s and 10s so early.

Inkanta · 16/10/2022 12:44

Yes I think he was standing up for her - she's been through a lot of pain and all very recent. The news about her ex and girlfriend being pregnant is another shock and will affect aspects of her dancing at the moment. He probably feels protective too and giving a message to the ex camp. She's been through the mill. Also buying some time for her to come round and flourish before December.

EvilRingahBitch · 16/10/2022 12:53

I did think it was a bit odd to have Jayde's heartfelt (but technically iffy) dance for her sister on the same week as Tony and Will's equally heartfelt dances for men's mental health (it's not a special Men's Mental Health Week at the moment is it? Not denying it's a huge issue, it just seems weird to have two men doing pretty much the same theme in the same week). Unbalanced the show a bit, especially with a moderately emotional Couple's Choice VT on top.

I fear for her Couple's Choice: I think she'd be well-advised to do a Jazz Hands Musical Theatre number, which she could do pretty well, and tell a good and entirely authentic story about her lifelong love of musicals.

However next week is BBC Centenary Special week so I'm not sure whether they'll have any couple's choices that week.

Claymorekick · 16/10/2022 10:24

Yep

Emotionalsupportviper · 16/10/2022 13:06

I found couples choice annoying because I feel like the judges didn't seem to critique it from a technical pov (maybe because they are not experienced in that genre) and I did think it was a bit overmarked. I also dislike the barefoot wafty ones - I remember Mark Wright doing a particularly wafty one

I'm sure that when CC was first introduced, the couples were allowed to pick a PROPER DANCE that they had done, felt they had done a good job of/ enjoyed dancing, and that they reckoned they could pick some points up with - it wasn't all of this "tribute" and "journey" bollox which is so ridiculously nebulous and virtually unjudgeable (certainly beyond criticism because it's "personal" and to do with "feelings" 🙄).

I dread the CC nowadays - still, it's a chance to pop the kettle on, I suppose.

woodhill · 16/10/2022 13:17

Didn't like the Street dance, I would prefer more ballroom dances

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/10/2022 13:18

I think that's a different type of couple's choice — choosing a dance for the final.

Couple's choice spread through the weeks was originally theatre/jazz or lyrical or street/commercial.

Now it just seems to be whatever they want...

Emotionalsupportviper · 16/10/2022 13:22

Ah! Thanks @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams - I remember it being a real dance though - not just faffin abaht.

EsmaCannonball · 16/10/2022 13:38

Oh god, the BBC theme week. On the other thread we'd already decided that Molly and Carlos are going to do Hyacinth Bucket and Onslow, so what else could we have?

Johannes is tall enough to do Officer Crabtree and Ellie would make a very passable Michelle of the Resistance.

Ellie and Nikita: Den and Angie, the one with the divorce papers.

Jayde and Karen: Mavis Cruet and the Evil Edna.

Tyler and Dianne: when Nicholas Witchell sat on the lesbians. (She's Nicholas, obviously.)

Will and Nancy: paso doble - Dickie Davies vs. Des Lynam.

Fleur and Vito: Triangle - Couple's Choice, based on her passion for making Airfix models of North Sea ferries.

Matt and Nadiya: rumba - Reginald Perrin and Joan Greengross.

James and Amy: that big kitten on The Goodies.

Tony and Katya: Argentine tango - Fanny and Johnnie Cradock's cheese and wine soirée.

These are all the obvious ones. Can't think of the others.

FartOutLoudDay · 16/10/2022 14:08

Will will obv have a 2 pints of lager themed one if it is a BBC theme week

the80sweregreat · 16/10/2022 14:22

Tony adams would do a good Rodney
Nancy as Del Boy

EvilRingahBitch · 16/10/2022 14:26

I feel that radio never gets a look in on these things, so I want:

Country Dance Couple's Choice to The Archers' theme tune

Foxtrot American Smooth to the Hitchhikers' Guide To the Galaxy music with Tony with an extra head and Katya as a small green creature from Alpha Centuri

Waltz to the Desert Island Disc theme/Sailing By (this might actually happen),

Quickstep to the theme from Cabin Pressure with Ellie T as Carolyn and Johannes as Arthur

Foxtrot to Hancocks Half Hour with Jayde as Hattie Jacques and Karen stretching her performance muscles as Kenneth Williams

Charleston to a medley of the various Goon Show themes with Lance Ellington brought back to sing the songs of his late father.

EvilRingahBitch · 16/10/2022 14:27

They must be kicking themselves that they wasted the Only Fools jive at Christmas. It's not even Christmassy

woodhill · 16/10/2022 14:27

Yes a country dance would be great

FartOutLoudDay · 16/10/2022 14:28

Four Blackadder routines please.

FeralWitch · 16/10/2022 15:37

Maybe the big group dance could be a contempowaft to The Shipping Forecast.
