@Minimammoth
Thank you for this video of the wonderful Joyce Grenfell. Brought back happy memories of going to see Maureen Lipman in Re:Joyce! - A Celebration of the Work of Joyce Grenfell with my Mum and Maureen performed this sketch brilliantly.
I have been following this thread as decided to try and get back into Strictly this year after a gap of several years, due to being bored with the same old formula and also knowing fewer and fewer of the so-called celebrities. This year I am more invested as I know more of the celebs and decided to try and stick with it to the end.
I still don't like all the shrieking and standing ovations for very mediocre dances in weeks 2 and 3 and I really wish Motsi and Shirley would dial it down a notch or two, plus the scoring is all over the place, are they all on drugs?
I totally agree with lots of comments about going back to more actual ballroom dancing rather than prancing around like a wannabe from Fame in stupid costumes and bloody endless Disney films. If the BBC would just concentrate on the dancing with less of the boring fluff it would be so much better. Oh and also the BBC need to tighten up the security around spoilers giving away the results, if they can't manage that then just go back to the original format.
