@Vapeyvapevape bitchy to certain females remember how awful she was to Emma Barton ? And all over certain men like a dog on heat!!

Clawdy · 10/10/2022 08:35

Can't stand Shirley now. Wish she would read this thread and learn a thing or two! Every Strictly fan I know comments on her spite towards women. And that false smile!

humanatee · 10/10/2022 08:39

As someone in a same sex couple, it always makes me nervous when there are same sex couples on strictly. All of a sudden people make harsh comment, and it gets a bit exposing and upsetting.

I wish the bbc would do a better job at moderating their comments, as between that and the strictly groups it gets a bit overwhelming at times. Theres some proper nasty stuff on their at times

Someone who came to my wedding, watched us dance together keeps commenting visibly how same sex couples "doesnt look right" and it would be better if it was a man and women. I cant help but wonder if she felt that at our wedding

The visability is nice, but it makes me want to hide under a rock more and more

Figgygal · 10/10/2022 08:39

There was an article on Facebook this morning reporting fans are bored of the show that It's repetitive and tired. I was thinking the sake this morning - same catchphrases, themes, presenters and judges (though I'm fine with anton) it needs a bit of a shake up doesn't it?

GrouchyKiwi · 10/10/2022 08:45

The shake-up it needs is to go back to more traditional 10-dance. That'd feel very fresh now.

I think Tess is a lot better this year, overall.

And I too would love Karen Hardy as a judge.

Yes I agree it needs a shake up.

I like the actual dancing but the silly videos in between are a bit blah, and although I like Tess, she cannot improvise at all and sounds so insincere and robotic, the way she rigidly sticks to the script. I think the BBC has put so much time and resources in to Take Two, Instagram, Podcasts and all the extras that they are neglecting the core programme.

Pheasantpluckersunite86 · 10/10/2022 08:55

To be fair I thought Tess had improved a lot last series, but this weekend just gone had gone back to stumbling over words and getting her timing wrong. I am
sure it is a very hard presenting job though with so much going on and it’s a lot more demanding than we all imagine.

derxa · 10/10/2022 08:57

I have concrete evidence that the dance off doesn't take place on a Sunday. 😆 We watched the Arsenal match last night and after the analysis and interviews we had footage of Tony clowning about some people at about 7.15 Naughty Tony

Oh that's awful you are made to feel this way in 2022. I'm so sorry. Some people are horrible.

In your shoes I think you would be justified in sending a very polite private message to your former wedding guest saying "couldn't help but see your comments and then couldn't help wondering if this is how you felt at our wedding?" This stuff needs calling out!

I agree. But then again I'd block them.

Fizbosshoes · 10/10/2022 09:29

We usually record and watch on catch up so we only watch the dance itself, judges comments and scores (and fast-forward all the waffling and faffing, videos showing them visit a school/zoo/museum etc , and the awful "jokes" between numbers.) It takes way too long otherwise.

I agree. They throw everything bar the kitchen sink at it, when really a bit of the less is more philosophy would serve the format better. It’s still a great show, but definitely needs shaking up and paring down in places.

Inkanta · 10/10/2022 09:48

Shirley's mean and illogical streak was clearly showing itself again. I think she should be replaced as head judge. There are so many great dancers that are firm but fair and trustworthy out there that could do that job.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/10/2022 10:30

EvilRingahBitch · 10/10/2022 08:05

I think Tony is struggling with being the joke contestant. I'd like to see the judges acknowledge how hard he's worked and how much he's learned before he leaves.

I agree with this.
Tony is only 3 or 4 years older than Will and Matt but he's treated completely differently. And he was a sportsman so might be generally fitter.

He’s 10 years older than Will and while an athlete he had a role that will have taken its toll on his body in a way Matt’s job won’t have done in the same way n

FartOutLoudDay · 10/10/2022 11:20

I think they could reduce the field and shorten the series so it starts in October and there’s less weeks where you’re struggling to keep up with who’s who

Quartz2208 · 10/10/2022 11:24

Will Mellor is very much my generation (mid to late 70s) at 46 whereas I definitely consider Tony Adams at 56 (today Happy Birthday Tony) to be older - he was playing first team Arsenal football when WIll was still at Junior School.

Matt is I agree a similar age at 54 but I think with all the trauma needs much nore careful handling

augustusglupe · 10/10/2022 11:53

I didn't warm to Richie atall and his partnership with Gio clearly wasn't working and I'm glad he's gone.
John & Johannes worked, they had the X factor and I could've watched a whole show with just them in it!! No need for over marking there 🔥😍

logana · 10/10/2022 12:07

There was an article about Shirley in the You magazine yesterday. I thought it was very clear that the interviewer didn't like her. She was pleasant over Zoom but when they met face to face she was standoffish and chilly.

EvilRingahBitch · 10/10/2022 12:08

I felt that Tony was less than impressed by Claudia's "Boy George tweeted that he loved your dance Tony! Actual Boy George who's properly famous!" If I were him I'd be thinking "Yes love, but I'm Tony Fucking Adams, did you not watch the clip from The Full Monty which showed what an icon I am?" Maybe I was projecting,

ArcaneWireless · 10/10/2022 12:21

Had another wee watch.

Loved Will. It was filth and beautiful all at once.

Tony made me happy. That film has so many happy memories for me. For ages you couldn’t go in the mess or queue to get into the unit without someone starting the queue dance.

The crowning point was when someone started humming the tune on the parade ground and you could see folk desperately trying not to move and failing.

The sgt major used to despair enough at us RAF and Navy lot compared to his crew, but we took the bollocking. From a lovely gaffer with the twinkliest of twinkles in his eye.

Good times.

I would like to say I am Jayde shaped. You’d think I’d be glorying in what she did.

My eyes were never off Karen. I would pay money to see her dance the Flashdance dance. She is ruddy glorious.

Cuck00soup · 10/10/2022 12:37

I wish they'd bite the bullet pre-record it, at least in the early rounds. It would save the embarrassing and cringey videos whilst they prepare the sets.

shumway · 10/10/2022 12:49

My heart sank a bit at the mention of couple's choice - tends to be my least favourite dance.

Yeah, I totally get this, I had to sit and awkwardly listen to some people at work last saying the same sex couples didn’t look right. More people basically crossed off my safe person list.

Yes, a UK garage mega mix isn't really what I watch Strictly for...
