I subscribed to passport and vpn and binged the lot - it was beautiful 😭😭😭

I have cancelled Passport and kept vpn. If you set your vpn location as e.g New York (that's how we did it). Google PBS Masterpiece, you may be able to watch E1 in its entrity. Give it a go. My broadband is rubbish (live in London, have Sky) and couldn't watch it. I ended up going to son's house in the Midlands where there were no issues.

I wouldn't know how to attach a clip to save my life and I don't need to because you find stunners. 😄 I think I need to check the last one again.

You have to laugh at someone who would post these pictures of Sidney looking like a demon and Charlotte looking like she wants to hurl herself off the cliffs to try to say that was a superior pairing to Xander and Charlotte.

Just finished. Very sad it's over but a nice conclusion. Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar substitute?

I think the 1995 Persuasion with Ciaran Hinds is wonderful but nothing has ever grabbed me the way this does. It's not perfect of course, I wish we'd had more Heybourne screentime, but it's an absolute joy.

I'm starting again. I find the first watching is so caught up with the emotions I miss lots of the detail.

I think I'm the only person in the world who hasn't seen all 6 episodes 🙁but I was pleased to find a longer tea-shop excerpt at

Ben Lloyd-Hughes absolutely smashed it. He's so good with the facial expressions. Hopefully he'll get plenty more work after this.

There are some stunning ones of BLH
All the smouldering looks across a room (even better than Colin Firth's Darcy!!), the soft look when Charlotte thanks him for helping Georgiana, plus the absolutely besotted schoolboy gaze after her as she leaves Heyrick Park, with Samuel sniggering beside him
And then there's the almost wordless scene outside Trafalgar House, after bringing back Augusta

I could go on but you get my drift....

The look of hope and expectation on his face when he knows they are free to marry each other as Charlotte approaches from the carriage and the pure joy when he tells her he's not engaged to Lydia.

I also love that he doesn't have to ask because they both know they want to spend their lives together.

Aah it's just beautiful.

Mary is brilliant at doing this but it is her job 🙂
