Just even with my 8, 11, 14 and 16 yr olds

8 year old asked for his switch maybe an hour in but we all loved it.

Sad story

The actor playing Elvis is AMAZING!!!! Didn't like the actress playing Priscilla though. The real Priscilla was much prettier

He played his switch and had the light on in the cinema?

He 8, his body doesn't even cover the back rest of the chair so wasn't disturbing anyone.

We took 11 year old at the weekend. We all enjoyed it but it is a long film. Helps though that we have an intermission at our local cinema. So able to have an ice cream break.
I think an 8 year old would struggle to sit through it.

If an 8 year old started playing on a switch in the cinema I would've lost my shit, don't care what size they are. The rudeness and entitlement of cinema goers is what puts me off going these days.

Luckily everyone - and it was a much older crowd, I think I was one of the younger ones at 40 were well behaved.

Loved the film, a bit long though and hated Tom Hanks but not sure if that's what the point was so sign of a good actor?

I agree! Priscilla was stunning when younger, the actress they used did not do her justice. She was bland as anything

Just back from it with 4 friends and, if I'm honest, it is really long and I think your dc would be bored stiff.

I was born in the late 60s so Elvis was still playing regularly on radio and TV while I was growing up. I came out feeling sorry for Elvis, but far from emotional and was glad it had finished as it dragged on a bit. Austin Butler was very good in parts. I am a massive Tom Hanks fan, but I think he was dreadful, he irritated me throughout the whole movie - he was flat and boring. All 4 of us had roughly the same opinion, one of my friends work colleague saw it last night and said she fell asleep half way through it.

I agree with this. It wasn't fast and pacy, the first half was practically turgid, I had to struggle to stay awake. And I wasn't especially tired.

It's was too long. And the relationship with the manager wasn't properly portrayed.

Yeah, it's sad, but his life story is sad, and we all know his life story. This was supposed to be about the manager and the abuse.

I saw it again with my 12-year-old last night and although she thought it was a bit long, I was actually surprised that she really liked it.

Highly recommend listening to Mark Kermode’s review of the film, and Simon Mayo’s interview with Tom Hanks about playing the Colonel - fascinating to hear how he completely changed his take on the character after meeting Priscilla and another of Elvis’s friends.

Absolutely loved it! The attention to detail on the costumes and set made it for me
