'Sybil' (book and also mini series ) was pretty much this plot. It was later said it was all made up , I think- but I loved the Sally Field drama , and I've had the book it was based on for over 30 years.

ageing she was in Hollyoaks for years, up to the New year. She was written out - and was less than happy about it- lots of cryptic twittering went on. (There were allegations of racism from other cast members, iirc, which lead to some leaving- and then she felt she was sidelined, before eventually being written out).
