And will we find out before the summer break ?

Probably not. Because Wimbledon starts next week.

Smaller, I meant small receptacle.
Smaller wouldn't make sense 🤦‍♀️

EspeciallyDivided · 30/09/2022 10:08

It’s true that so much about medicine is set up for male bodies and male anatomy and they could really make a good point there but it wasn’t well done.

We were having this exact conversation at work a few weeks ago about how urine samples are considerably easier for men than women. At our GP they used to just give you a plastic cup to take into the toilet there, but no good if you need to do one at home when you first wake up. But there are ways round it.

Everytime would be weird!

This is quite interesting, re-visiting the previous storyline.

Unless they are shamelessly after another award Grin

ooh- a judge who is on Emma's side. Bit different to the one who sent Jimmi down ! Grin

It's another double bill today, I think. Wondering if the second half will be a bit cheerier...

Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:05

Bella the second episode is part 2 of this trial- so it probably won't get an cheerierGrin

Ok- so they will take this woman's word for it that Mark said she threatened to kill him, but not Jan's claims of abuse?

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:07

I do like the judge.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:09

I will have to watch the second half later, though, because I have to go out. Even though the weather is appalling and I would rather stay here.

Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:10

He's just bullying her. I don't think even the jusge is that convinced.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:24

He tracked her as well? Nice.

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:26

She thinks abuse only happens if violence is involved, clearly. Sad

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/09/2022 14:32

Jan got luckier with her cell mate than Jimmi- and her prison is all nice and newly painted (and not all grim and dark like the Clink was ).

Lucy Benjamin - excellent actress. A cut above many that appear on Doctors.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 30/09/2022 16:30

Even if they are shamelessly after an award they deserve it, I thought those episodes were fantastic! (And they're good at bringing out the best in soap actors- they've had Tom Lister and Verity Rushworth from Emmerdale and Lucy-Jo Hudson from Coronation Street)

Raahh · 30/09/2022 16:44

I've just finished watching the second one and I agree it was very well acted. When they give Emma a decent 'plot' it's often well done. small she was also the one involved the baby case (Lucie -Jo), and was the one who found Eeeessh's mother. Blaming herself for tragic stuff seems to be a theme- they need to give her a break really!

OP posts:
smallandimperfectlyformed · 30/09/2022 17:03

I like Emma, especially now they have her and Zara being friends! I'm so glad we don't have Bren and Eesh to be bothered by anymore - I liked both of them at first but my goodness Ayesha banged on so much about losing her mum it drove me mad! In fact I missed quite a few episodes at that time and said to my mum I'd catch up and she said no don't bother, it's just loads of Ayesha moaning about her mum!

Raahh · 30/09/2022 17:14

small it was another incident that involved someone Emma had previously been close to, falling out with her over something that wasn't her fault.

Talking of which- (it probably did, in a 'swept under the carpet' kind of way)- but did the endo storyline ever get resolved? That was the cause of Zara and Emma falling out- and I don't remember what happened to the patient.

OP posts:
smallandimperfectlyformed · 30/09/2022 18:35

I don't remember the endo patient storyline having a good ending - I think it just fizzled out. But Daniel will be bothered about it after Valerie's diatribe and will be feeling all guilty. Do you reckon Luca's coming back now Maeve's left? As long as we don't get any flag episodes I don't mind! (Do you think they read our threads- that must have been the most hated episode I have ever seen commented on?!)

Raahh · 30/09/2022 19:32

small that's what I thought, that the endo patient just disappeared, really.
Oh, the flags episode was terrible. Not even pretending not to have an agenda. The Izzy/pansexual episode felt like it had been written by the same writer.
'Luca' has been on a theatre tour- but not sure when that ends/if he will be back. I hope so- I liked him.

I am hoping Val gets to leave in a happy storyline. I know she's had up and downs- but I don't think it would fair to her character to let her leave with a sad, medical storyline. (even if this is DoctorsGrin).
I want her to go off on an Alice in Wonderland trip. or get a job at cat rescue centre. Grin

MadisonAvenue · 30/09/2022 21:51

Raahh ’Luca’ is back filming now, think it was said on Facebook that his return to The Mill will be around Christmas time?

Raahh · 30/09/2022 21:58

Oh, thank you Madison! I am glad to hear that. I thought he was a good addition.

I was a bit worried about Scarlett, now that Sutton Vale obviously won't be a 'thing'- they won't need her, will they? But if Val is leaving, she will get to stay. But surely they would need someone else, since she's not that experienced.

The Campus has not featured much, has it? I wonder if that was a space/covid/ social distancing issue? SV was clearly a plot device that let them use massive rooms.

"Staff desert" - no problem, there's no patients either.

Raahh · 03/10/2022 13:48

Are Val and Gobby ever in the same building anymore- they always seem to communicate over the phone now.

I wish I got that instant service from my GP. The old trope...
(although they have put my blood results online within a couple of days so hurrah for that)
