Just been on to catch up on what I'd missed and the thread has gone?! Anyone have any idea why?

People are saying Rachel deserved it because she slagged off Laura whitmore recently 😬

I wish they could show more natural conversations and people getting on normally.

I feel the same .. but to be honest I don't think there is a lot of natural flowing conversation between any of them ? Every single " can I pull you for a chat " starts with " how you feeling " " Yh I'm good how's you feeling " where's the .. holy fuck what are you wearing ? My mates's nan's neighbour wears them shoes in the garden ! To be replied with " ya cheeky git! at least my fake tan goes all the way into my armpits ya skank" followed by a nice laugh and a snog ?

Looking at the photos of Luca's family home being posted by his sister, he's giving me heir to a fishing dynasty vibes rather than simple market trader.

Would explain the £1000 spend on a first date I suppose

Interesting

I work with someone in her early 20s who had no idea who Michael Owen is.

I was wondering this too! Her “big reveal” which she obviously takes v v v v seriously, might not be so enormous.

I found it weird when she was talking about her family “my family is everything” I felt like she was talking as if she was the parent in the family - is she aware she’s supposed to grow up and move on and gave her own life…

lasttimeyoucalledon · 11/06/2022 14:28

I disagree about Gemma. I don't think she actually wants people to know who her dad is. I think she knows they'll eventually find out, but wants to hold off as long as possible so a boy there chooses her for herself and not who her dad is

marmiteadict · 11/06/2022 14:36

She may be out of luck in that case. Just asked DS age 17 if he knows who Micheal Owen is and he did.

Apparently he is a valuable player on FIFA so if any of them play it on the xbox/play station they'll know.

Who knew ?

I thought she was just echoing Davide, who said that to her first.

Bestkindaparty · 11/06/2022 15:55

My 7 year old dd knows who Michael Owen is. He's doughnuts from the masked singer 😂

Anyone with any interest in football will know who he is, even if they're youngsters. He pops up often giving his views on matches.

Newpuppymummy · 11/06/2022 17:20

My 18 year old daughter doesn’t know who he is. I’m not sure she’s working up to a reveal

I found that weird too. I thought maybe its because her dad's famous Confused

My DSis is a teacher and said most of the girls in her year 10 tutor group had no idea who he was!

I can see that girls wouldn’t but most boys that are in to football would absolutely know who Michael Owen is.

marmiteadict · 11/06/2022 19:07

Completely agree that the boys in the house will know through football pundit/ FIFA etc.

The girls may not but that's who Gemma is aiming to impress.

Doesn't make for a better show though!
Very weird. I'd say crap producers.

orangeisthenewpuce · 11/06/2022 19:39

Michael Owen is very unpopular. I wonder if she knows.

You don't say!

I saw a good suggestion on another site:

'They said: “Love Island really needs a red button where you chose the islanders you focus on personally would much rather watch Ikenna raid the fridge than this shit with Davide/Gemma and Luca”.'

lasttimeyoucalledon · 11/06/2022 20:27

Do they not sit down together and eat? Why do you never see them eating dinner or lunch?

Do they just pick from the kitchen as of when?

I'd rather watch one person talking to themselves than Gemma and Luca.

Aquarius1234 · 11/06/2022 20:56

And watch them eat lunch and dinner.
Oh they take their microphone s off when eating lunch and dinner.
Which is bloody stupid imo

It's not. I can't stand the noise of people eating and cutlery on plates. The kissing slurp noises are bad enough.

Aquarius1234 · 11/06/2022 21:12

But we could miss all the important gossip

ghoulie · 11/06/2022 21:13

Apparently there are chaperones at dinner that monitor conversation topics so nothing gossip or show worthy can be said off camera, according to past islanders

BiscoffSundae · 11/06/2022 21:22

I heard they separate the guys and girls as well so they don’t say anything that is missed for the main show but don’t know how true that is, it was someone who was on the show before that said it
