Just been on to catch up on what I'd missed and the thread has gone?! Anyone have any idea why?

I reckon loads of regular MNs have stopped watched LI. Easy to see why people quit the show when nothing has improved. Its just background atm.

So we're not able to chose to watch love island anymore? It's not only racist, it's ageist and fattist too, if I was on there now I wouldn't be picked either. Was once an attractive woman who was born with white privelige as you see it. But I missed out on decent relationships because as It turns out I'm neuro diverse...it wasn't recognised then in women...this is escapism from real life. I understand you may feel aggrieved too but maybe you should ignore this thread if it makes you angry? I almost said lighten up but that's so wrong in your context so I won't. Start your own thread go deep, win people over demand an all black love island so a black couple wins..I really don't know what you are expecting to happen..but being bitter is never attractive whatever your DNA

Can we have a thread based on what’s happened on love island rather than a racism debate please! Or at least start a new thread for those of us that don’t want to take part in debate?

Alison Hammond won hearts and minds in Big Brother, she's enjoying a very successful career too, and doing her bit regarding the black lives matter issue...with positivity..she's the perfect influencer. She's also too old and fat for Love island,for this year but she's got the rest of the package! Not everyone is going to fancy her, but nobody needs to be fancied by everyone..it's just about attracting the right person in real life..love island is so far from real life

If you think the opinions of black mumsnetters are irrelevant because they’re not from people who have actually been on love island, you could have easily googled (like several POC have suggested you do on this thread) and read the words of black contestants speaking about their experiences of discrimination. but yes I’m the arrogant one!
I looked back on your comments to remind myself of how you’ve responded to POC and see that quite a few have been deleted by MNHQ which says it all really.

I think it’ll be Ekin and Davide, Amber and Dami, Tasha and Andrew, Afia and Ikenna and then Luca will have the final pick. They might put a new boy for the two last days rather than a vote off between the two.

Isn't the whole show based on the bias/pretence of choosing people based on lust, and binning them off to get to fall in love with someone you are better suited to? There are never munters, but that's where my type on paper comes in and the fact that maybe we are single because we've reverted to the wrong type and should explore and diversify? These people are on camera and not always in it for love..but for likes and fame through shock factor and controversy..maybe its us that are being duped? It's escapism and so far from normal life, it's about playing the game..whatever the game is is for them to know and us to find out..competing and watching are both optional..as is being offended and feeling excluded from being in there..Rejects! rejoice and realise,being successful and happy in life doesn't revolve around appearing in Love Island...far from it...be your best self
