Remake of The Time Travellers Wife

On Sky Atlantic.

Odd choice, it's already been made into a film so strange to do a series. Seems to be a bit of theme as Sky dramatised The Staircase too recently.

Anyway, I always thought the book was bordering on weird with a bloke hanging around with a small child waiting until she was old enough to marry him. Film was weird too, now the new drama is really weird, or is it just me?

Anyone else seen it?

Just watched the finale and they must be counting on a second season...

I just binged it over the last couple of days and really felt like it needed an extra episode at least to tie everything up. Having read the book, I know what happens to all the characters but if you hadn’t read it, would you have a clue by the end? Yes, there are hints throughout of what happens to Henry but I’d expect a clearer denouement from TV.

I did like it though. I loved the book when I read it years ago, but it’s so long ago that I don’t have a definite visual picture of the characters, so don’t feel either were miscast.

I thought the series was great. I enjoyed it more than anything I have seen for a while. I read the book when it was published so didn't remember much of the story which probably helped as I didn't have any preconceived notions around the main characters and who should play them. Really hope there is a second one.

Oh no this is sad, I was looking forward to the second series.. I read the book years ago and loved it, the grooming reference goes both ways, they both formed their personalities around each other. It’s quite tragic, the series, how she is always missing the ‘other’ Henry. She’s always waiting for him in some way, and the ending (in the book) is all the more tragic because of this. Loved this series, the actor who played Henry was really good - angry, yet resigned to his fate

same here -especially the man, he’s got a face that irritates me, so much so that half an episode and I switched it off 😭

The whole second series thing was weird. They didn’t leave enough story for another 6 episodes so I’m baffled!
