DH has been banging on about this show and also Baptiste, for the longest time now.

So I’m giving it a go. Slow start so far. Close to giving up.

Shall I stick with it?

Also, any suggestions for similar tv shows would be great. Thanks :)

I really enjoyed them, they are very slow and could probably be a couple of episodes shorter and the time jumping can be a bit confusing, but they were ok and i did look forward to watching them.

The second series was better.

Okay thank you for your feedback. I actually don’t mind the time-hopping too much, I think what’s getting on my last nerve is the constant changing between English and French. I like to watch my tv shows sometimes when I’m washing up or doing the laundry, but can’t do that when I’m constantly having to look up to read the subs 😅

It appears to be well written as far as I can tell so I’m going to do my best to stick with it.

I liked the first series, but thought it could have been 'condensed' into fewer episodes as it was a bit slow at times.

I started on series two when it came out on NF, but gave up after the 3rd episode. Just couldn't get into it and didn't really care about the central 'mystery'. I know everyone raves about Baptiste, but I find him annoying and one note. In both series, I was also irrationally irritated at how they contrived things so that almost nobody in France or Germany actually spoke French or German! I wonder why they just didn't set the series in Britain if they were just going to have everyone speaking English in any case.

I've just watched both series of The Missing and loved them both, didn't find them slow, I really liked Baptiste as a character. I have started the spin off Baptiste series 1 and can't get into it however.

You're v late to the party. These were aired on BBC1 about 7 years back.

I think they're one of the best dramas the BBC has made. Baptiste is the spin off from The Missing.

Missing season 1 is better than season 2. And I preferred the main series to the spin off.

They have just been put on Netflix @ouch321 that's why people are only just watching them now
