A quiet corner of MN for serious addicts of Kdrama, or the K-curious. Most of our viewing is drawn from Netflix and Viki, with a sprinkling of AmazonPrime, AppleTV and Disney+. There are also platforms streaming content illegally if you go looking. We don’t promote them as they are peppered with pop-ups of “Olga” and friends offering a good time, but we can point you in the right direction. We also dip into Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese drama as & when.

Shows marked with a star are more uniformly loved or admired. In categorising series, its important to note most Korean dramas have multiple strands - e.g. supernatural, romance and a thriller; crime series with fantasy elements. Genre-busting mash-ups are normal. Series that are tagged as dark may also have moments of comedy or the absurd, likewise fluff can have heavier moments. Writer/actor Simon Pegg referred to it fondly as “tonal chaos” - it’s part of kdrama’s charm. Despite my initial consternation, Sweat and Soap was actually rather lovely. I was impressed with FL & ML’s ability to work their way through relationship wrinkles by good - if halting, unbearably shy - communication of their individual needs. Bravo sexy-weird nerd poppets! 👏🤣

Hadn’t realised until yesterday that Alchemy of Souls is the Hong Sisters’ screenplay. I now have even higher expectations.

Is anyone having issues with Yumi's Cells episode 5? Mine will only play the credits and then I get the dog error picture.

I can’t get back into Yumi’s Cells Brambly so I can’t help out.

I had to go out 15 min before the end of ep 4 of Alchemy of Souls earlier. The big telly’s now been commandeered by my menfolk to watch Umbrella Academy. Sigh.

As in I’m not following, not having the same issue with Viki.

Ooo Money Heist is very good, I am mentally prepared to be frustrated at cliffhanger end thanks to warning and I can't work out yet who is going to have the steamy sex in episode 6 😆

8 episodes into Lost and it is beautiful but oh-so-BLEAK. Really hoping the healing kicks in for the second half. It's very wintery too so I feel I'm watching it in the wrong season.

There are two steamy scenes with two different couples. The first one is quite risqué for K Drama but the second is hotter 🔥 Don't blink though, you may miss it 😁

I'm plodding through Welcome to wedding hell. It's bearable but not fantastic.

Well definitely not coincidence. They're on a Louis Vuitton jolly in Paris with Lisa from Blackpink (who flew them there in her private plane apparently. As you do.) who was not matching them although they worked as a trio look. I think they're dating but what do I know? I bow to the knowledge of those who made FAR greater study 😂
