DOCTORS- Patronising Princess is causing trouble at'Mill - and will we ever find out what happened to Dr Ashdown?

In answer to the question- probably not.

But I'm still hoping that we find out Princess was behind his disappearance. The episode with her mother pointed to a shady past.

And the drugs that Heston took were called Viper, i have remembered.
(Kept me awake, that did)

That's really interesting Annie.

Are they actually dealing with something properly medical on Doctors for once ?!Grin

We're fairly sure DH had Legionella once, but it was very much brushed under the carpet.
We'd been to a local store and stood looking at a hot tub, it was working and full of warm water. I think DH even swirled the water around, as you do. Within a week 3 men were dead and 20 others ill.

Within days of the contact DH suddenly became ill, sicker than I'd ever seen him in all our years together. At one point he was delirious. I managed to get him into the car and to the OOH (My first mistake, I should have dialled 999), where they couldn't really decide why he was as ill as he was but decided on tonsillitis. They sent him home with some strong antibiotics after debating admitting him and he was in bed for almost a week. By the end of that week it came out about the exposure so I spoke to our GP who really could not have cared less, said it was 'possible, but he's recovering now so testing is pointless' and that was that.

With the benefit of age and wisdom I wish I'd pushed more, but I didn't and so we'll never know for sure. One thing I do know is he was very symptomatic of Legionella and never before in his life, or since has he had problems with his tonsils or had anything like that illness.

Raahh · 20/06/2022 20:21

Blimey, Killed that sounds really scary! I hope your dh didn't suffer any long term effects.

KilledByWitches · 20/06/2022 20:35

The only time he's ever terrified me in 30 years. It took him an age to recover as well, something else that didn't really sit with 'tonsillitis'. He was still not quite right a few months later, but did eventually recover fully.
The company who caused the outbreak were fined £1m, the store no longer exists.

It's a result that they were fined , Killed but what a horrible experience.

Now that I've decide it must by Doctor Ashdown, clogging the water supply, I will be really disappointed to find it's not Grin
(Maybe that's plot a bit more suited to Midsomer than LetherbridgeGrin)

I am a freelance writer and one of my clients is in the water / heating / cooling industry and I do a lot of writing about things like legionella bacteria and cleaning your hot tub.

Legionella is associated with air cooling towers on factories, or with water systems which are not run regularly. If the water keeps flowing, the bacteria can't grow (or won't grow to dangerous levels). If, for example, you have a hotel which was shut down for the pandemic, tehy were sending people in weekly to run the showers and taps and flush the loos to minimise the risks. Or in a room/setting where the warm water is only used very infrequently. Taking precautions against Legionella is a legal requirement, businesses must have risk assessments and a written plan showing how they are minimising risks. Jail centres are possible for those not complying.

Dr Ashdown is definitely suss. And his wife is just rude.

ExtremelyDedicated · 21/06/2022 08:51

Missed yesterday's but that is shocking @KilledByWitches .

At my work we have a legionella risk assessment and all the hot taps are flushed weekly in case they haven't been used. There is a minimum temperature for domestic hot water tanks for this reason too.

Raahh · 21/06/2022 09:57

Stroop thank you. It's interesting , the legionella stuff. I hope the cover the outbreak properly on Doctors- but it's coming up to the summer break, so we will have all forgotten what is going on by SeptemberGrin

I wonder if this outbreak will mean they'll just shut The Mill and move completely to Sutton Vale?

It must be using up all the producer's budget to hire 2 surgery locations Grin

Raahh · 21/06/2022 10:34

Rock they have 3, including the Campus. And not enough staff for one Grin

It's hard to tell where they are sometimes- the Mill rooms seems to have morphed into the SV ones. I'm easily confused though Grin
The campus rooms are still the same- (same sofa in the waiting roomGrin).

Stroopwaffels · 21/06/2022 10:36

does seem quite budget-busting to have two locations to pay for. perhaps they are thinking of selling off the original set.

RockaLock · 21/06/2022 12:52

Ah, yes, I'd forgotten about the Campus.

Maybe we'll start seeing a reduction in Patient's Homes With Massive Taps to compensate.

I've just read the spoilers for the next few episodes - looks like they should be corkers! (For Doctors, that is. Everything's relative).

FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:29

Oooh RockaLock you tease, you!

FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:48

Maeve does my head in. (I know, I keep saying that). She never sounds genuine about anything. I wouldn't trust her an inch.

Raahh · 21/06/2022 13:49

I think we are going to get some answers this week.

And is this going to be Doctor Ashdown??

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:49

How can they tell the age of the corpse when it is covered in leaves?

MadisonAvenue · 21/06/2022 13:51

Ooooooh!

Raahh · 21/06/2022 13:51

Has Zara failed to tell the staff that Princess is suspended?

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:51

Mrs Ashdown killed him and dumped him in a wood.

Raahh · 21/06/2022 13:53

Ruhma hasn't a clue who this is

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:53

Oh for goodness sake Chris-the-Scouser. Not int he supermarket. Bet his missus phones now...

FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:54

Oh guessed that one right. Ruhma to the rescue...

Raahh · 21/06/2022 13:55

I'm not sure it will be Mrs Ashdown, given the supposed 'financial mess' he's left her in.

It's going to be Maeve, Princess or Rosie Grin

OP posts:
FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2022 13:56

I'd love Maeve to be a mad axewoman on the quiet!
