Wednesday 27th April, 9pm, BBC 1.

I'll be away for weeks 2&3 which is unfortunate.

Hated Mitch's and the linen one. Loved Marnie's

Halsall · 27/04/2022 20:56

Hmmm, have to say I wouldn’t have chosen that as GOTW.

Mitch to go - no surprise.

It made me think of those tunics people working in a spa wear

SoupDragon · 27/04/2022 20:57

Ooooh, trainers! That's a new one.

Maireas · 27/04/2022 20:57

Gonna miss Mitch/ Benny Abba.

Jellykat · 27/04/2022 20:58

A dull dress as GOTW, however big up Welsh Debra (i live in Wales)

EsmaCannonball · 27/04/2022 20:58

The garment of the week reminded me of a fancy tabard. I would have gone with Annie's.

I thought it was really not good, but I'm probably not up on fashion enough. It did look like a uniform of some sort

Me too

Me too

Me three. GOTQ looked too big on the hips.

Co

Puffalicious · 27/04/2022 21:15

Controversially I liked the Wes Anderson, colour-block, linen one 😉

Feckingfeck · 27/04/2022 21:16

SIIIIIIIIIII ( with Ronaldo style celebration)

🙌🏻

smilesy · 27/04/2022 21:17

I thought the GOW looked like a bit
like an apron of the style my grandmother would wear, or something that would have been found in a Gratton’s catalogue back in the day. Not my thing at all 😂. It was a shame Mitch had to go. He seemed like he could be fun to watch. He did have a bit of a mare though.

BookShark · 27/04/2022 21:18

Unnecessary levels of excitement here as I realised I work for the same firm as one of the contestants (I recognised the office).

Love some of the wrap dresses - might try and find some patterns and have a go myself - still learning to sew but I imagine a wrap dress is easier to fit than a fitted dress. And if nothing else, it's an excuse to go fabric shopping...

dillite · 27/04/2022 21:25

Oh crap. I forgot it started today, I have some catching up to do tomorrow.

BeaLola · 27/04/2022 21:48

I thought GOTW looked like a spa tunic too.

I loved the gingham wrap dress (would have had a different colour sash to the pale yellow), the lime green with floaty sleeves, the sleeveless colourful one (!) and a couple more but overall the one made in honour of Grandma Monica was my favourite & I would have liked to see it as GOTW.

Seeing the preview at the end - footwear - omg

Cuck00soup · 27/04/2022 22:06

I liked the GOTW it wasn't just a typical wrap dress. I'm also liking Sara P whereas I thought she was awful in the Xmas ones. I much prefer this toned down version and like how she interacts with the contestants.

Glad to see this back.

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 27/04/2022 22:07

GOTW reminded me of dentists' uniforms. I liked the one inspired by Grandma Monica best.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 27/04/2022 22:12

Just placemarking so I can join in when I catch up.

SoupDragon · 27/04/2022 22:13

Sara was definitely better than she was at Christmas. Hopefully she'll continue to improve as the weeks go on.

ICannotRememberAThing · 27/04/2022 22:15

I can’t wait to watch this! Absolutely love the sewing bee!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/04/2022 23:25

GOW reminded me of the year they did the walk-away dresses (I think that was what they were called anyway) and had to make yards and yards of bias binding.

I know somebody who sounds just like Brogan. She's lovely, but she does sound like everything! is! very! exciting! all! the! time!!!

I think Granny Monica's dress was my favourite. I liked Granny Angela and her picture of her nurse's uniform too.

There are one or two I definitely don't recognise yet. I'm also not sure I can reliably tell the difference between Dracula's Castle and Millwall Supporter.

lugeforlife · 28/04/2022 06:36

Dd and I really disliked GOTW. I didn't like the contrast binding at all, I thought the sleeve length was frumpy.

I liked organza dress, brogans and granny monicas. The black and white geometric pattern one was just like dresses I wore to work in the early '00s. I loved the 80s top in the middle challenge.

I was sort of expecting milwall to go so I think next week unless he radically improves.

MoltenLasagne · 28/04/2022 06:50

I loved so many of the dresses which is impressive for the first week.

So far I'm liking Sara - I think she's a bit calmer than on the Christmas one.

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 28/04/2022 07:01

I like Sara too.
I am such an avid lover of the show, but it has gone the way of MasterChef - it used to be people who could sew a bit and improved, rather than people who are already amazing (other than Mitch..!).

Ulysses · 28/04/2022 07:11

I liked most of the dresses in the made to measure, most of them were done really well. I thought the organza one was the most inventive. I wasn't too keen on the winning one though, the print was lovely but the style was a bit blah and some of the others were a lot more daring.

I thought some of the piping on the skirts was way too thick and I wish they'd reconsider the refashion section.

I liked Sara in this, it's nice to see a new face on prime time. Not loving Patrick's grooming on this one though.
