I use a lot of recycled fabrics so I like this week.

4 hrs 15 mins to sew 96 squares together, before you make the jacket.. come on now

Pretty sure my mum had a patchwork jacket in the 70s. To go with flares and clogs...

I had a velvet patchwork jacket as a teen.

Interesting bit of history there. Working with scraps borne out of necessity, not style choice.

All that effort to sew the patches only to cut them up again.

A lot of them seem to be way behind.

I’d be really annoyed if I made a perfectly aligned piece of patchwork and then had to hack it up to make a jacket I wouldn’t be seen dead in 😬

Patchwork is lovely as quilts or throws but not as garments, imho.

This is REALLY hard.

Yes. I'd not given any thought to where patchwork came from really.

This is like one of the challenges on bake off which are deliberately impossible and therefore annoy me immensely

This bias binding thing makes me think of a GCSE poem called 'Poppies'w written by textile designer Jane Weir. If ay of you have DCs who have done GCSE they will know - and possibly adore- Mr Sodding Bruff on YouTube. Who has not. one. clue. what yellow binding is. No idea why he didn't look it up.
