Please tell me what happened! I had to do something child-related & missed the ending. I felt so sorry for her two gorgeous daughters. Did she have the op, and was she OK?

She died of a heart attack a few days afterwards

Dottydot · 07/01/2008 21:59

She survived the op but died a few weeks later of a heart attack/heart failure. Very sad.

she had op but sadly 2-3 weeks later she died from a heart attack or heart failure
very sad

She had the op and was ok for a couple of weeks - still in intensive care but doing well - then had heart attack and died.

Was all covered very quickly in the programme. But got the impression it wasn't a complication related to the operation.

Absolutely tragic. Poor poor woman. And family.

Oh blimey, that's awful. Her poor girls. But I suppose she would've died soon anyway. Did they explain how she got in that state in the first place? I got the impression that she was in denial about food, ie said she didn't eat much, or often.

it saaid she gained weight after a back accident...

food can be very addictive my mum has had a gastric bypass and is now doing very well. and i hope she lives for a very long time, so this lady could have got there and lived a longer life with her girls .. she was only 29 ish

last week it was about a man who did fantastically well

TheStepfordChav · 07/01/2008 22:21

OK, thanks. Life's ups & downs, eh? I'm forever crying at stories in the paper or on the news, out of either sadness or being touched by something happy (usually something to do with a rescued baby!)

Night night all - my birthday tomorrow!! 27 yet again...

can't understand how she can get that fat if she can't even get out of bed.- why wouldn't her carers just stop bringing her so much food?

chocolatespiders · 07/01/2008 22:30

i read her story in paper before the tv prog

  • very sad....

people will always access food i used to visit a lady in my job who couldnt get out of bed and she had takeaways delivered through her window by her bed.. it was a bit of a vicious circle cause she couldnt get out to get healthier food and wouldnt have been able to stand to cook it

Hvae a great birthday

3andnomore · 07/01/2008 22:31

I must admit, as harsh as this sounds, but I also think that the carers acted irresponsible...especially as it became quite clear that the poor woman had no idea just how much she overate and presumably how oftebn she did have food...as the stories of nearest and dearest and her own didn't quite add up....but do feel sorry for her and her little girls!

ninedragons · 08/01/2008 00:15

Yeah, it really didn't ring true when she was saying "oh sometimes I have to remind myself to eat because I forget". Sorry, but nobody gets to that size by forgetting to eat.

I did feel sorry for her, but it was sad that she couldn't face her attitude to food right up to the end.
