OK, I sat through the first episode, which was slow and not over-burdened with jokes, on the basis that the first episode of any comedy is more about setting the scene that getting laughs, but OMG episode two was worse. I quit after 10 minutes and have no plans to return to this.

I think the BBC know something's up as you can view the whole series (but why would you want to?) on BBC I-player.

There's some serious comedic talent going to waste here with 5th rate material.

Still it has achieved one thing. Eldorado is no longer the worst thing the BBC has ever put on air.

We really enjoyed it. We watched it with the teen DC who also liked it.

I really enjoyed it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I thought it was OK actually. And I did laugh out loud occasionally but I didn't mind it didn't have me splitting my sides. It was more gentle and I don't mind that.

@SausagePourHomme

I absolutely loved it. For the people who didn't, fair enough, it's just not for you.

I've never after not enjoying a programme thought 'must start a mumsnet thread to whinge about this'.. Don't get why you'd spend any more time thinking about it.

If I didn't enjoy a programme I wouldn't either Sausage but this went well beyond "not enjoying", this was just so plain awful I just had to get it off my chest.

Yes, I definitely had chuckle moments and wanted to love it. I can't work out why Ghosts is so much better; it seems to be a very similar meandering show. Odd.
Well, I haven't seen Witchfinder, but Ghosts has a wonderful comedic team who've been working together for many years on various projects. So of course they all gel really well and know what works and have that foundation in place.

I loved it, my advice is stick with it as it develops nicely. I really warmed to the characters after a couple of episodes and thought the story was good.

To the poster who mentioned Windfall - I enjoyed it more than I thought I would in the beginning, it had some surprising moments!
