A thriller staring Jill halfpenny as kate who discovers her husband Sean (Owen McDonnell) is having an affair with one of her friends who they are on Holiday with

Kate Sean and their two kids Lucy and Daniel are hoping to enjoy some sun

Kate discoverers a text on Sean’s phone

The drama follows kate as she tries to work out who the illicit lover is , as more secrets and lies are revealed

Is it

Rowan whose marriage is going through a rocky patch

Jenny who had a fling with Sean before he got with kate

Izzy who is in a new but complicated relationship

Why are all the women drooling over Sean ? They need a trip to Specsavers. He played Eve's husband in Killing Eve, virtually unrecognisable !

They're all a strange mix, and everyone seems to be tense.

I also found the little girl ultra annoying with her dancing about and precociousness. But I didn’t want to be mean to the actor!!
Sean is very tactile with all the women are there men who are really like this

Yes and normally they get universally recognised as the creep and we avoid them! Not sure why he is in favour here - they’ve made him as unattractive as possible!

Agree my first thought was that Sean is not appealing in the least...it's odd no way would they be falling over him. They have money problems in the shower scene Kate said could they afford to go out to dinner...put it on the card! They kept asking how much the shopping would cost too and were told by the others they'd settle it all up at the end. Her daughter and the teen boy who were on the cliff edge have had a fling and bad feeling/possible pregnancy in the offing...glad its straight nights and not weekly!

Dh thinks Izzy will have an affair with Shaun
I still think that Kate had an affair with Michael , who they mentioned at dinner and Rowen slept with Shaun 20 years ago before Kate, at Uni.
The daughter is acting weird , too. Maybe not pregnant, but something else ?
The fire is at the villa I assume?

I’m finding it really boring and confusing and not keen on the acting, but maybe that’s just me! Watching tonight in hope gets better!

Basically a group of friends who don’t really seem to like each other

Makes you wonder how often they meet

Jenny is the one with the accent and is Jake’s mum and is married to Alistair. In E1 she tells Kate that she slept with Sean at uni before Kate got together with him.

Rowan is the annoying child’s (Odette) mother and was married to Michael but divorced him (I think Kate accused him of having an affair but he wasn’t, although there was something else as well that caused Rowan to divorce him?) and is with Russ.

I struggle to tell Russ and Alistair apart.

Sean is Jakes Father, Sean has been txting Jake and put his name under a girls name so Kate does not find out. Jakes mum watching him all the time because she does not want him to get together with Kates daughter because they are half siblings. Well that my take on it

Interesting theory - but isn’t Jake too young for be a result of a university fling? Jenny seems to swing between protective of him and overbearing to him.

The little girl is even worse in the book, super spoilt and precocious. Rowan hires the exclusive villa for all of them as she’s super rich. I think the money problems are alluded to as a reason why it might be Rowan who is the affair lady as Kate things Sean might want the £££ lifestyle that they don’t have.

They’re meant to be 4 university friends who go on a girls’ holiday every year. They hadn’t been for the last few years since Rowan had Odette so Kate suggested they all go away for their 40th birthdays with families too for the first time. Rowan hires a villa which isn’t normally rented out for them all.

The almost sex scenes are gratuitous in the sense that they don’t happen in the book! I agree that Sean is not sexy at all which is spoiling it rather!
