What can I watch with my 13 year old?

I like to watch something with Dd, doesn't have to totally engage me but I don't want to watch hours of random TikTok shit. Over recent years we have watched Merlin, Dr Who, Ghosts, Stranger Things and some of Death in Paradise. Dd doesn't want to watch any reality shows. I'm feeling a bit uninspired and also overwhelmed. Can anyone help me find some interesting viewing?

Just remembered I have another wish, not too much sex! I think she'd love BattleStar Galactica but I seem to remember it has a lot of scenes that might be uncomfortable to watch together, or am I misremembering?

Thank you for any help!

Wow, thank you loads of great suggestions. I'd forgotten that we've also watched Big Bang and she's seen Young Sheldon. She loved Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch. Johnny Lee Miller one is totally different but think she'd like that too.

Will give her some options tomorrow. Thank you all again, you've been very helpful Smile

I second Shakespeare and Hathaway.
Also Brooklyn 99 and Superstore

Loki (and actually any of the Marvel series) if you have Disney Plus

Bumpinthenight · 06/02/2022 22:27

Lots of the above plus The Gilmore Girls

Have you seen Enola Holmes on Netflix? Mollie Bobby Brown plays Sherlock's teenaged sister. Its a film and there's a sequel coming soon.

lilyfire · 06/02/2022 22:29

We’ve watched Parks and Rec with my 13yo who loved it. Also Lock and Key was good.

I usually use imdb parents guide to check for any sex scenes.
I do this for films so not sure if it has series on there but it is useful.

Friday Night Dinner! Definitely suitable and also very good.

For all mankind if you have Apple TV, about the space race if Russia had got there first. Fantastic for female characters too! DS 15 loved it. Just started watching Sweet Magnolias on Netflix, wouldn't be for my DS's but maybe for a DD.

Valhalla17 · 06/02/2022 22:31
