I imagine he'd have given evidence by video-link in the circumstances. I don't think he could be compelled to give evidence but it might weaken the prospect of a successful conviction if he didn't, especially as there was no substantial evidence other than Kyle's testimony.

Agree with PP that bearded teacher guy must have a bigger part to play. I wondered if he was the guy in the bed, at the start in the first episode? Also, I'm sure her blackouts are going to be ripe fodder for reveals.

Just finished watching Episode 2.

Have decided that Jenna is on a mission to self-distruct. I think it was very noble of her to take the higher ground sacrifice herself and plead guilty to save both Kyle and her going to trial.

BUT I think the real reason is because she couldn't trust herself to know the truth and she genuinely believed Kyle wouldn't lie about something as big as this.

It was very telling when the lawyer revealed there was a bet running amongst the boys Jenna taught as to which one of them could shag Jenna first.

Why didn't Jenna think that's what this was all about? It's clear to me that she was definitely set up to take the fall for something she most likely didn't do.

Although, how to explain the empty condom packet the morning after?

Very disturbing episode tbh. Awful the way that lad pissed through her letter box.

Why didn't she tell the lawyer she had lost her phone? Remember she had plugged it in to charge in the classroom, then she noticed it had been unplugged! Someone obviously used her phone to send those photos to Kyle!

The empty condom packet could have easily been planted to make her think she'd had sex. If that is the case it's definitely someone that knows she blacks out when she's drunk which makes it more likely it's an adult rather than one of the school kids.

Yes that bearded teacher Jack definitely has some sour grapes that he feels Jenna is just using him and wants to protect Kyle more. I think he's right too!

In Episode 2, I think it clearly shows where a lot of Jenna's issues started from: her mother's suicide (for what reason, do we know?). Of course, the dad being the way he is isn't helping things. But I couldn't believe she nearly gave him a heart attack quite literally. He was standing behind her until she put in the guilty plea!

I thought it was her friend (Pauline?) who she was talking to at the clothes bank (as it was her that Jenna had just been asking questions to), but I may be way off the mark.

It was all filmed in Budapest, which is why it's hard to work out whether it is a state school or private school.

Pauline must be involved - she was the one Jenna was questioning when that text was sent - unless that's misdirection. Though she would seem a very unlikely choice for a teenage boy to have a relationship with, as the texts imply.
