@Blondeshavemorefun I'm pretty sure it has been said in the show that Kyle is 15, though I agree that the sentence was very light.

The bouncer said he had (presumably fake) ID to get into the club.

Nina gave the phone to kyles mum because she knew she would hide it. She wants everyone to think that ss is guilty. She only has the head of year job as ss was fired.

I don't think Brian is Kyle's Dad. I think Kyle is gay, or bi curious and Brian has groomed him. I suspect Brian was sexually inappropriate with young boys at the previous school, Jenna dobbed him in, he got sacked and this is his revenge.

Ah, I didn't watch that but I've probably seen a trailer or something. I think she's very good in this role. I didn't recognise Kyle's mum.

I like Notes on a Scandal. The book has the edge for me, possibly because I read it before I saw the film, but they're both excellent.

When I said earlier in this thread that the plot was easy to follow.....I was wrong

Kyle's mum was in Holby City and also Casualty years ago. I watch the classic ones and remember her. Also SS has done comedy, she was in Benidorm a while ago as a loud, common girl. She was good in that. In the program we're talking about now I can't get over how she wears those thick sweaters indoors. She must be sweltering, or can't afford to put the heating on!
