Our Girl Thread 63 "Our Girl Revisited and then what?"

We started to follow "Our Girl" back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of "Soldier Soldier" to keep up our military terminology and galloped through three series of "The Musketeers". Of course, there is a definite connection between "Our Girl" and "The Musketeers" in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We are now revisiting series 2 of Our Girl and are trying to decide what to watch after that.

Nice line Fingers...yes he's always had a thing for the medics.

Fateful decision to go in the ambulance. It's a good job they didn't spot her discarded uniform in the ambulance.

Magi84 · 26/01/2022 22:00

Another Molly mention but never any real conversations

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2022 22:01

Handy though that she had a different uniform just like that.

Text from Jamie about how many children they are going to have. What a thought.

The ambulance is ambushed and poor Mansfield is shot.

Oh dear, that's torn things. Here are the bad buys. She hides her uniform so quickly. She's lucky those scrubs fit her that well.

Georgie is kidnapped by the terrorists.

Kidnapped for the first time...of many.

eejittwo · 26/01/2022 22:02

So how did she get rid of the army top?

eejittwo · 26/01/2022 22:04

That’s how.

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2022 22:04

I really enjoyed that, it's a while since I watched that episode.

She shoved her top under the stretcher with the dead man upon it.

Magi84 · 26/01/2022 22:05

Frantic stuff there at the close if that episode. It certainly was a good start to the series

Rhubarb01 · 26/01/2022 22:05

Yes, enjoyed it too. It felt like a lot happened.

eejittwo · 26/01/2022 22:06

I can never decide whether ep2 or ep3 is my favourite.

Ilovelblue · 26/01/2022 22:11

I like parts of both eejit. I don't like the bits in episode 2 where she is clearly being badly treated (I think she came off lightly; in real life I think she would have been more than manhandled) but I absolutely adore the scene where Elvis and the lads jump out of the helicopter and of course the shower/bucket scene! I like it in episode 3 where Elvis is in the next room to her and of course the climbing over the balcony scenes!

👍

eejittwo · 27/01/2022 18:09

Don’t we all like the winching scene when the protective hand comes round.

Magi84 · 27/01/2022 18:52

Oh yes you are right eejit I think that is when I began to feel a bit sorry for him. Hadn't really much sympathy before that time.

Ilovelblue · 27/01/2022 19:04

I forgot about that eejit but yes, it goes without saying!

I quite like the end of that episode in the helicopter. Whilst she might seem a bit ungrateful after all the effort involved in rescuing her, it's telling that her first reaction on seeing him, after claiming she's over it all is to lamp him. Mind you, it would be a bit arrogant to expect her to immediately forgive and forget...but then again, this is Elvis!

eejittwo · 27/01/2022 20:05

👍

Ilovelblue · 02/02/2022 21:00

Evening all. Are we ready?

Yes

Ilovelblue · 02/02/2022 21:02

I've pressed play and we're just ding the recap.
