Our Girl Thread 63 "Our Girl Revisited and then what?"

We started to follow "Our Girl" back in 2014 and although there will be no further series, we do revisit from time to time. We have watched all seven series of "Soldier Soldier" to keep up our military terminology and galloped through three series of "The Musketeers". Of course, there is a definite connection between "Our Girl" and "The Musketeers" in the delightful form of Luke Pasqualino. We are now revisiting series 2 of Our Girl and are trying to decide what to watch after that.

Yes, a good episode.

Rhubarb01 · 23/02/2022 21:59

I've always thought this series had a good plot.

Magi84 · 23/02/2022 22:12

Amazes me the way words creep into my posts.I am sure I never mentioned yesterday but did write "just how much"

Rhubarb01 · 23/02/2022 22:17

If we watched another series of OG which would we watch? The first 4 episodes of the next one end on a sad note and the ones after that aren't so great.

eejittwo · 23/02/2022 22:53

The first two and a half episodes of the next one aren’t great and have the creepy Milan. The last 20 minutes of the fourth episode I want never to have happened. As I mentioned, I watched the Nigerian tour which isn’t bad, but I could NOT bring myself to watch the awful Belize and Bangladesh tours. The last series isn’t too bad and has Spanner and Blue as well.

Ilovelblue · 23/02/2022 22:58

Well, there's the first series that set us off on this track in the first place and as eejit says, the last series is quite good and wraps everything up quite nicely in the end.

Other than that, it's a question of deciding what else we want to do. At least watching another OG series would buy us some time to decide properly what to go for.

I couldn't bear to watch any of series 3. Would be quite happy to watch series 4 though as it turned out to be quite good even lacking CJ and Elvis. Did sort of settle a few loose ends.

Not long to go till our least favourite line in the history of British tv drama. Sick bags at the ready, ladies.

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 20:59

I'm here, ready and waiting.

Evening all. Well, what a week it has been. Least said about how Georgie Lane might have contributed, the better.

Ready for Episode 5.

Rhubarb01 · 02/03/2022 21:00

Pressing play now...doing the recap

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 21:00

Pressing play.

Ok, lets not say it....

eejittwo · 02/03/2022 21:02

The scene has gone in way too long.

Rhubarb01 · 02/03/2022 21:03

No definitely not a good look. Watch out if someone slaps you on the back you might stay like it!

Meanwhile, Jason is sulking in his bomb factory.

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 21:03

We see Abu in his hidey hole plotting who knows what.

CJ wants Georgie to stay in the army.

Rhubarb01 · 02/03/2022 21:05

I reckon CJ just doesn't like Dr Dull, hence the hints to not throw away her career.

eejittwo · 02/03/2022 21:05

There are some lovely bits coming up

eejittwo · 02/03/2022 21:06

And not so lovely bits

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 21:06

Elvis certainly suits that blue shirt.

The mutual look back. Yep, very awkward and not cool

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 21:07

Max and Grace are sorting out the wedding table plan. Elvis rings Georgie to say they think Abu is in the vicinity.

Rhubarb01 · 02/03/2022 21:07

Here we go, her mind is on Elvis and here comes god's own pencil¬

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2022 21:08

Wait for it..... Grace and Max are introduced to Dr Dull's parents.

And our favourite phrase of the day is.......................?
