I've loved:

Vera

Lewis
Endeavour
The Bay
The Loch
Scott and Bailey
Broadchurch

The Tower
The Long Call
George Gently
Columbo

And probably many more.

What else might I like?

I wasn't wanting to subscribe to anything else but if i can do a free trial then that's good, thank you!

Shakespeare and Hathaway
On BBC iPlayer now.

PerkingFaintly · 26/01/2022 20:48

Definitely the Swedish Wallander if you can cope with subtitles. There's an English-language remake with Kenneth Branagh, which is beautifully shot but missing the magic.

Murder in Paradise is good if you like your murder mysteries lightweight

@UnoriginalPenguin

Did you watch the new adaptations of PD James' Inspector Dalgleish that were on Channel 5 before Christmas?
Well, this is exciting news. I've watched all the old ones with Roy Marsden many times and read all the books several times as well. I'm in the US, but I see they are available on Acorn. That's my weekend booked.

Basically anything on ITV3 that's sponsored by stairlifts, walking aids or life insurance. And I'm only 40 years old.

I couldn't wait for the weekend. I'm watching Shroud for a Nightingale now. I'm really happy that they did not update it to the present day, which would have been a bit tricky.

Threads like this are one of the reasons that I love Mumsnet. Thanks, OP, for starting the thread.

I set a series record on my Sky box for Midsomer Murders. It seems to have picked up a few episodes more than once, but I've got about 130 episodes sitting there.
