Can you recommend me a lighthearted TV series?

I love my crime dramas, but occasionally I like to wind down with something a bit more light hearted - usually half an hour per episode to finish the evening.

I've done the whole FRIENDS episodes and have loved Ghosts on BBC. I've tried The Cleaner but can't get away with it.

Can you make any suggestions please?

I have Netflix and Amazon Prime

Superstore! I discovered it last year and now it’s my comfort TV. All 6 seasons are on Netflix.

Joxster · 17/01/2022 21:15

I absolutely adored Pushing Daisies if you can still watch it anywhere.

mswales · 17/01/2022 21:17

Broad City a million times over, funniest comedy ever

Seriouslymole · 17/01/2022 21:21

I loved “What we do in the shadows” but everyone else I’ve recommended it to hated it so who knows? Also loved Detectorists and I really enjoyed The Cleaner - maybe try again?

Have you watched Bones? It's crime/murder but I find it very light, easy watching. I can often dip in and out of episodes if I'm not quite in the mood.

Parks and Recreation for the win. But also Schitt's Creek. And we've recently been enjoying Awkwafina is Norah from Queen's and Alma's Not Normal (not entirely light hearted) on iPlayer. Oh, also Crashing and Catastrophe on 4

catfunk · 17/01/2022 21:43

Schitt's creek. I found it a bit of a slow burn but was obsessed by series 3 😍

catfunk · 17/01/2022 21:44

agree catastrophe was hilarious too

CardRoomGreen · 17/01/2022 21:45

Schitts Creek is lovely. Sweet and funny.

Cocolapew · 17/01/2022 21:47

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, humour in it is a bit near the knuckle sometimes.

RememberToLookUp · 17/01/2022 21:47

Superstore is my comfort watch, too! @Tiredforfive45

Redpencils · 17/01/2022 21:49

Schitts Creak takes a while to get into, but it’s a really lovely gentle comedy. They don’t go for the obvious jokes.
Brooklyn 99 is on Prime
I also love US Office, Parks and Rec and Modern Family. There are a lot of seasons and like all US shows and the quality tails off quite a bit. Goldberg’s and Young Sheldon on E4

losingthemind · 17/01/2022 21:52

Emily in Paris
