Did anyone see this last night on BBC1? It was about Bristol Social Services. It was a real eye opener. A baby of an ex drug user died and the family were blaming the social worker for allowing the baby to go home with it's mother. I really think you need to be a special person to do that job. I'd find myself getting too involved.

Poop, missed it last night. Fair play the the heroin mum might love the baby but babies need alot more than just love IMO.

iwas a family support worker before i became a foster carer, and have seen this all many times before but it doesnt make it any easier, most the time if people have got low enough in there selfs to be on drugs/drink they have learned to con any one any time, and unless your with them 24/7 you will never know all the truth,i dont doubt the girl loved the baby and wouldnt intentionally go out to hurt it but the substance abuse doesnt let them see reality as we would.
as for the teenager look at the role modale see had but the mum would never see that the daughter was reacting to how she had been brought up
