I am looking for shows like Jonathan Creek /Death in paradise/McDonald and Dodds/the one based in New Zealand I’ve forgotten the name of etc.

I like things were the case is Solved and wrapped up within the episode. I have tried things like Line of Duty but didn’t enjoy it so am looking for things as described above.

There must be more out there that I haven’t tried!

You'll like Agatha Raisan.

Get a free Acorn TV trial and have a good old fashioned binge watch Grin

My DP and I have just started watching all of the New Tricks from the start. Brilliant.

I've started doing the same thing.
Dh has always enjoyed D.I.P and New Tricks and the like and I've always dismissed them. I started half watching an early episode of D.I.P and was asking loads of questions and being annoying so he suggested we went right back to the beginning sndcwstch the whole lot. Its escapism, it's a bit if fun and humor and easy watching. I currently have a crush on Ralf Little (not in character as Neville though!! )

I like both of those OP and I also like Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (set in 1920s/30s Aus) and Frankie Drake investigates (or something like that).

Madame Blanc mysteries is a new series on channel 5 player (so free).

Looks like a similar vibe to death in paradise, set in small picturesque town in?France or Italy.

I haven't watched any but have seen trailers.

We are currently watching NCIS, we totally missed it when it first aired. Nice easy watching. Also The Blacklist. Both American but with a lot of humour and focus on character personalities.

@McGintyii

Another Father Brown fan here, there are loads of them too!
I love Father Brown, I love the setting and the costumes more than the stories. Unfortunately, the latest series was a bit bonkers, jumping the shark, I think.

Lovejoy. A lot of big old houses with faded grandeur, a nippy little plot line per episode, humour and male/female friendship and chemistry. Any time anything at all happens, someone says “let’s get a drink.” Discussions in beamy pubs and people perfectly happy with being a bit broke!

CatSpeakForDummies · 17/01/2022 09:46

Pushing Daisies and Vexed were both funny, light and crime per episode, but might be hard to find.
