I love a good crime drama / police procedural / whodunnit, especially UK-based. I particularly like dramas based on true events or cases, although fictional is okay too. I have Netflix, Prime and Britbox

Things I have watched and enjoyed to a greater or lesser extent (there’s probably more, these are the things that spring to mind) so anything more in this vein is what I’m looking for:

Manhunt - both series
See No Evil
Little Boy Blue
Unforgotten
Three Girls
The Fall
Line of Duty
White House Farm
Rillington Place
Harlan Coben’s Safe and Stay Close
Happy Valley
River
Luther
Whitechapel
Appropriate Adult

Code of a killer - about how they first used DNA mass testing

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 04/01/2022 09:13

I am guessing you have already seen HAPPY VALLEY if not the whole lot is on BBC iPlayer

midsomermurderess · 04/01/2022 19:13

Vera. All series on Britbox and a new series starts on Sunday. Northumberland looks so fine.

CrossPurposes · 05/01/2022 15:27

For the price of a posh coffee, Unforgiven by Sally Wainwright with Suranne Jones is available on Amazon Prime. Cracking.

Aspidistra1 · 05/01/2022 18:38

Broadchurch
Marcella

The Bridge - not UK but good Scandi

Save Me and Save Me Too - less police centred but good

Vigil

How to get away with murder - netflix

midsomermurderess · 05/01/2022 19:20

For an Anglo-French take on the Bridge, see The Tunnel. It's very good. With Clémence Poésy and Stephen Dillane.

Lipsandlashes · 05/01/2022 19:24

Unforgotten is really good.
Making a Murderer (Netflix)
Defending Jacob (Apple Plus)

Lipsandlashes · 05/01/2022 19:25

The original The Killing

girlsyearapart · 05/01/2022 19:26

Showtrial on iplayer

RussianSpy101 · 05/01/2022 19:27

Time on BBC iplayer with Sean Bean & Steven Graham

devildeepbluesea · 05/01/2022 19:30

No mention for Shetland yet?

Robin233 · 05/01/2022 20:05

Stay Close ?

efeslight · 05/01/2022 20:14

Just repeating the recommendation of Unforgotten with Nicola Walker
Don't know where these 2 Older series are available but both worth watching if you can find them.
Prime suspect with Helen Mirren
Cracker with Robbie Coltrane

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 05/01/2022 20:18

What’s that Irish one with that lovely blonde woman in? It’s on all4 catch up. Ticks many of your boxes 😉

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 05/01/2022 20:19

Deceit.

Mumstheword1990 · 05/01/2022 20:55

Another vote for Broadchurch (Christchurch made me giggle!)

FatFucker · 07/01/2022 23:11

I've just watched The Staircase! Wow!

I had to fast forward through some of it, as it dragged slightly. It's a great "real" crime drama, I can't find a thread on it as the search function on the App is shit! But has anyone else seen it?

TrashyPanda · 08/01/2022 00:01

Agatha Raisin
Morse
Lewis
Endeavour
Midsomer Murders
Jonathan Creek

Balonder · 08/01/2022 00:09

Someone mentioned Dublin Murders. Etc in Ireland obviously. Its brilliant. And Varys from GoT is a narky cop in it

Robin233 · 09/01/2022 09:48

The Locke

ThisBear · 09/01/2022 09:58

I think there's another UK based Harlan Coben series on Netflix but can't remember the name...

Not British, set in Paris, but Lupin on Netflix was good. It was made in French but from memory it's dubbed in English. Worth trying a couple of episodes to get into it because the story really develops.

ShadowGirls · 09/01/2022 10:03

My manager told me it's not normal to have a fascination with crime and that it gives you a warped sense of reality when I recently told him I'd watched one of the listed programs (he asked what I'd done the previous evening)

Glad I'm not the only one who enjoys these types of programs

FaoinDrualus · 09/01/2022 18:49

The Strike series with Tom Burke is very good. Based on the book series by JK Rowling. It was on BBC so its possibly on the iplayer.

Do you mean Hidden Assets with Angelina Ball of "The Commitments" fame where she's a Guard in Ireland Criminal Assets Bureau? We watched it and enjoyed it. The way it was left hints at another series which would be grand!
