The Great Pottery Showdown back tonight

Is anyone going to be watching? I absolutely love it despite only ever having one go at throwing a pot at school, forgetting to take my foot off the pedal and watching as the clay shot off the wheel into the adjoining open-plan science area. Looking forward to the new host too as I felt the last one made it a bit like a vehicle for her stand-up comedy routine.

I absolutely love Lucinda, but I often disagree with the judges on Throwdown so I'm not going to try and guess who wins! Not a fan of Tom's work for the most part, and they consistently seem to rate him. (Not to mention the deeply infuriating early elimination of Sal last year, which I am very much Not Over.)

Lucinda is excellent. But I think she might be one of those who has a bad week and is eliminated for that.

Jurgen did have a bad week when he was kicked out, TBF. Sal I think is harder to justify, I agree.

I’m debating whether to buy Keith’s book. I downloaded a sample the other day and while interesting, some of the turns of phrase are annoying me. Might wait until it comes down in price a bit.

Some wonderful shapes there.
My Granny had lots of that sort of pottery, smaller, displayed in a glass cabinet. Not sure where it all went but one or two pieces still in the family. Won’t be worth anything but I recognise the bright glazes and mottled overspill.
