Does anyone else watch this show?

I love it, but nobody seems to know about it! Sad

What did you guys think of the whole Sally thing? I thought she behaved really inappropriately. Didn't like her

Estara · 13/01/2022 11:52

Yeah it was odd, but it helped Nicky get over the idolised version of her and he could move on.

EasterIssland · 13/01/2022 12:02

I loved TIU's episode.. so beautiful ending!

Wallawallakoala · 13/01/2022 12:57

No I didn't like Sally she behaved in a strange way, I did like the ending but it was a bit random!

MadisonAvenue · 13/01/2022 13:01

Not sure what to make of Sally but she was really caught off guard by the visit wasn’t she so perhaps that had something to do with how she behaved. Chatting to her seemed to have had a positive effect on Rebecca though.

PrincessNutella · 13/01/2022 14:17

One thing I'm wondering--why does Malik go off to college, when he still has a baby to raise? Why doesn't he go to a college or university that is local (there are excellent schools in the Philadelphia area) and be a father.

Housewife2010 · 13/01/2022 15:13

I loved today's episode. Definitely made me cry.

XelaM · 13/01/2022 16:32

@PrincessNutella I can barely stomach Malik and the perfect Randall-twin he apparently is, BUT this is Harvard! Who would say "no" to Harvard?

XelaM · 13/01/2022 16:33

Sally's poor husband. I felt very sorry for him. I thought he handled it with as much dignity as he could.

User6397254 · 13/01/2022 16:53

Loved episode 2 and the ending

HerbErtlinger · 13/01/2022 20:09

@youngestisapsycho

Have we ever found out how Rebecca and Miguel ended up together?
I read an article the other day that says there will be a deep dive on their relationship and how it came about this season and that its very moving according to both actors.

I really enjoyed this episode but agree the Malik/Deja storyline is a bit dull

XelaM · 13/01/2022 21:07

By the way, "This Is Us" fans - have any of you ever seen "Parenthood"? It's similar multi-generation family drama but I thought better than "This Is Us" in many respects

XelaM · 13/01/2022 21:10

m.imdb.com/title/tt1416765/?ref_=vp_back - This is the series I mean

Sort0f · 13/01/2022 21:34

I thought it was obvious that Sally’s husband had been taking her for granted for years, cutting corners not just on the deck but on their relationship.

It was really disrespectful of him to basically call her a slut in front of them all. He was a small man threatened by the presence of Nicky and he took it out on his wife by kicking her. Whilst also trying to make out to Nicky that he was nothing special, one of many.

When Nicky showed up and had obviously been thinking of her all those years, it gave her self-confidence the boost she had needed to finally speak up about it.

She showed him very clearly that he has meant something to her and that she had thought of him too.

WellTidy · 13/01/2022 21:34

I haven’t seen it, but I think there are parallels with Brothers and Sisters too

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2022 22:10

I like to have a choice With his suitcase of clothes. All his shirts hanging up were similar 😂

But was lovely

So now we know edie Marries Nicky

Looks a lot younger then him

Also lovely he met sally. He gave her a boost and Rebecca chatting to her

Her hubby was an arse

Loved episode 2 and the ending
Me too. So emotional!
neveradullmoment99 · 13/01/2022 23:25

I'm glad some of the pieces fit now with the flash forwards.Really beautifully done.

Pl242 · 13/01/2022 23:38

Totally here for Nicky’s wardrobe of plaid shirts.

Hellosunshiner · 13/01/2022 23:39

@XelaM

Seen episode 2. No Kevin 😭😬 more screen time to Kevin and less to old Rebecca please!!!!! Although the weird dinner was a bit funny and we find out Nicky's future. Won't spoil it if people haven't seen it yet. The whole Deja and Malik storyline is boring. More Kevin please!!!!!!!
Agree with every word! I'd have written this myself if you hadn't first Smile
RoyKentsChestHair · 14/01/2022 01:07

Given that Malik has a kid I presumed they would already have been having sex. Not exactly a big reveal! And I don’t care about Sally and her husband, this is no time to start introducing us to new people, just show us the ones we love!

neveradullmoment99 · 14/01/2022 09:28

I don't like Malik. He just comes across as 'needy' The whole virgin sex thing ( although clearly not) made me🤮
Is that Deja's future? Or do they split up? She's pregnant in the future! I wonder who with?

Netaporter · 14/01/2022 09:39

I actually quite liked the Sally storyline and all of the storylines in this episode. In life I guess we’ve all had people we’ve thought about constantly and assume they’ve done the same thinking about us. It’s a new take on a well-used plot device which shows actually, no they probably aren’t thinking about you as much as you think about them 😂. I also quite liked the fact that her seemingly perfect house, marriage, career was not that at all and that at the first instance she’d dropped the 60’s hippy shit and worked for big pharma. Loved how Nicky found his wife.

Agree a lack of Kevin was a shame (even though in real life JH’s actions seem a bit questionable) . I’d also kill for Malik’s eyelashes. I did feel for Deja being so conflicted about lying to Randall about where she was going.. I remember doing that exact same thing around the same age but I did not have parents like Beth and Randall that probably would’ve understood. I wonder if Malik becomes very successful and they stay together?

Glad Rebecca had woken up to the fact that she’s treated Miguel quite badly over the years in terms of giving him the attention a lovely man like that deserves. Maybe we can get away from the fact that Jack was totally infallible and Miguel has more than made up for it over the years despite her kids treating him badly.

Hellosunshiner · 14/01/2022 11:09

I liked the Sally storyline finally being concluded. I thought Nicky was out of order stating at dinner that Sally had deflowered him back in the day - many partners would find that offensive, especially when they are seated at your dinner table having turned up as uninvited strangers. I also wish they had shown Nicky telling Sally how he agonised about going to join her on the trip to Woodstock but ultimately didn't have the bottle, unless I missed it I don't think they covered that specifically. It took a long time to dig that story out of Nicky and his big life regret at not going, and for him to be able to acknowledge that out loud to his unrequited love would have been the full circle. Perhaps she knew without it being said though. Perhaps I just missed it Smile

Not particularly interested in details of Malik and Deja's romance. I think the kids in the story work best when they are relating to the adult characters rather than as a spin-off.

When there's an episode without Kevin, it's really obvious how his character lights up the screen. He is a more interesting character and you never know what he's going to say or do next. Perhaps he's quite like Jack in that respect? I always like Kevin's scripting too, that even when he is being a bit precious, he can be funny and self-deprecating at the same time.

Shmithecat2 · 14/01/2022 16:34

I breathed such a sigh of relief at the end of ep.2 - I adore Nicky, he deserves happiness.
