Does anyone else watch this show?

I love it, but nobody seems to know about it! Sad

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 08/01/2022 09:33

I watched the flash back again on you tube where they are at the log cabin and rebecca is dying or in bed ill. I do wonder how they will make that leap into the future. They are all a good 10 years older.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/01/2022 09:38

Looking at it, Kate is missing from it but then so are her kids. Maybe she hasn't arrived yet because she lives in England now. Could be any simple explanation.
Nick definitely has a wedding ring on. Could he be married to Rebecca? In 10 years? Would seem unlikely to me. AThey make a huge point if showing it.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/01/2022 09:51

Also in one of the flash forwards where the girls are older, a car drives up and Randall says ' look who it is'
You don't see who it is but I think it's Kate.

PrincessNutella · 08/01/2022 14:02

I know they used to be rich, but then Randall was out of work for a long time, and then Beth was out of work for a long time, and then she put her cash into her ill-fated dance studio. They had been running out of money, which was why Beth was looking for a corporate job (and losing her confidence since she was getting nowhere) before she started her dance studio. But it is a little mystefying where she got the cash to start an entire skin care business that was successful in what, 9 months.

Blossomtoes · 08/01/2022 15:11

Maybe it’s a euphemism for Avon lady.

Doubleraspberry · 08/01/2022 22:01

Haha! She’s second tier in Arbonne.

Ofcourse91 · 08/01/2022 22:38

Just watched it. No way would Randall, as the victim of the crime, be able to speak to the guy who broke in to his house and then bail him out. Pretty sure it doesn't work like that!!!

Leaveitonthefloordrobe · 09/01/2022 08:38

I love TIU and I used to idolise jack and Rebecca and their relationship but I've moved to finding them really dull. And when jack starts his sentences with, "you know, when I was a boy..." I just think "oh FFS, get to the point, man!".

I really felt for Rebecca losing the word and her struggle to recall it. I know that feeling but I put it down to age/perimenopause. Does make me wonder if I should see a doctor Confused.

Agree that Randall is becoming tiresome.

For some obscure reason my tv switched after watching series 1 to series 5, missing out 2,3 & 4.

With the constant flicking back and forth, I'd no idea I'd missed out on a huge chunk of it.

that happened to me too!

Jack and Rebecca flashbacks are definitely annoying. After it was revealed how he died it just became tedious to watch the always perfect Jack always do and say exactly the right thing 🙄 I prefer Toby who is the more realistic character. At least he is human

diddl · 09/01/2022 14:15

I thought that Randall would adopt the dog!

Just watched the very first Ep again.

Wonder how much had already been decided about what would happen?

Remember when Toby is at Kate's for the first time & Kevin comes in drunk & complaining?

Toby realises who he is & gets out his phone for a selfie & Kevin immediately puts on a smile & leans in!

So funny, but kind of sums Kevin up.

Also he says something like "what if I'm only good enough to do The ManNY"?

Re the latest Episode-does he really love Madison or only think he does because he sees someone else around her?

ThisIsJeopardy · 09/01/2022 23:13

To pp wondering when Beth had time to develop a skin care business, and/or whether she's now an Avon Lady...

Beth describes herself as being "fulfilled in her new job.. and has a new skin care line that has her positively glowing."

I didn't take that to mean she's developed and launched a skin care line herself! I'm pretty sure she's naming two different ways in which she's, as she puts it, "firing on all cylinders": She has a fulfilling new job (which we don't yet know anything about) and she's feeling good about her looks because she's found a new line of products that work well for her.

XelaM · 09/01/2022 23:30

@ThisIsJeopardy I must say that's how I interpreted it as well

PrincessNutella · 10/01/2022 00:15

Well, thank you, her skin certainly is glowy!

Wallawallakoala · 10/01/2022 00:27

Yes so bored of Randall! Especially when he's saying about how many parents he has found and no longer has. Interested to see what pans out with Toby and Kate...

Someonesmamma · 10/01/2022 01:43

Randall’s hero complex rather boring agree

LutherRalph1 · 10/01/2022 07:27

@ThisIsJeopardy same here but I must admit this thread had me doubting myself and I was too lazy to go back and rewatch

Motherdare · 10/01/2022 11:09

Another fan here! I’m a little frustrated that they’re dropping episodes weekly. I prefer to binge this sort of show. It’s so well-made and skilfully plotted. My only gripe is with the entire premise of it all really. It is completely implausible that a woman who has just lost a baby would be encouraged - or even allowed - to adopt a baby on, I think, the very same day she is bereaved? It’s not only madness, it’s a cruel thing for Jack to ask her to do. So I have to overlook that when I watch it as clearly the entire programme is born out of that one improbable act!

I think Mandy Moore deserves all the awards for her portrayal of Rebecca through the stages of her life. I wanted Kevin and Madison to work it out but, in reality, it would be a disaster. Kevin would have an affair the moment he laid eyes on Sophie again.

I find Randall and Beth beyond cringe. His grandiose way of speaking and delivering every line like Morgan Freeman just grates and I find Beth’s sassy, Jenny-from-the-block attitude grating. Can neither of them ever speak to one another in a normal way?

I could still weep at Jack and Nicky’s story-line. It’s tragic.

WoodenReindeer · 10/01/2022 11:40

Just watched it. I dont like this one a week mlarky.

I had to keep tryig to rememeber where everyone was at! But it does feel like coming home. I have loved this series. Didn't feel there was as much to this episode but more a setting ip for the series. Do we know how many episodes?

PrincessNutella · 10/01/2022 13:22

I think there are 18 total for this season?

One thing I wonder about--how come Rebecca never seems to have any friends? Jack has friends, Kate has friends, Jack has Miguel, Kevin is popular, etc. But Rebecca, never seems to have gal pals.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2022 13:26

Usually 18 or have been 1-5 s

Housewife2010 · 10/01/2022 13:53

I like having one episode a week, but I still like watching TV the traditional way. I never do the (revolting expression) "bingeing on box sets".

XelaM · 10/01/2022 14:26
