Am watching it - don't know whether I should be, it's so sad. Was shocked at the stats that on average a woman gets beaten 35 times before she goes for help!!

KangaMummy · 15/11/2004 20:26

They are bringing in a new law I think that the person who is being beaten does not have to testify or report

So someone else can report them the victim doesn't need to.

In lancashire they are supposedly doing something new.

I hope I have got that right.

I don't know much about it but I thought if other members knew of friends who the programme would be in the same situation they may want to watch to then tell their friends.

If that makes any sense.

W&R - i really hope the police use that as much as poss and prosecute wherever possible, regardless of the support from the victim.

things are changing for the better legally 14 years ago when I was a victim of DV rape within marriage was not an offence and the police appeared unsymaphatic to DV although often was there littel they could do unless the violence was turned on them or a third party
