I had a look at what's coming up and there only thing I'm looking forward to is that Argyle Scandal drama and Graham Norton on New Year's Eve.

When I was younger it seemed that there was always a couple of high quality drama adaptations to look forward, Christmas Specials of current popular series (including successful documentaries of that year) and a couple of blockbuster films finally making it to the small screen.

I can't think if Christmas TV has got worse. Is it because everyone (like me) has switched their viewing to the less seasonal streamed services?

@SpeckledFrogsLog

The Amazing Mr Blunden! It was my absolute favourite Christmas movie as a child and I'm so excited it's been remade by Mark Gatiss!
Don’t watch it! It’ll be ruined for you.

Obviously do watch if you want - I don’t think it’ll touch the original imo!

mum2jakie · 19/12/2021 22:05

Ghosts and Motherland Christmas specials (even if the Motherland is a repeat )

There are two new episodes of Mackenzie Crook as Worzel Gummidge on over New Year's Eve/Day too so looking forward to that.

thatsallineed · 19/12/2021 22:05

Very little to be honest. I've been through the RT from cover to cover and nothing is jumping out at me at all.

Two Doors Down
Call The Midwife
Queer Eye season 6 on Netflix on the 31st

hellosunshineagainx · 20/12/2021 01:54

Call the midwife, I look forward to it all day!

notangelinajolie · 20/12/2021 02:22

Definitely All Creatures Great and Small on Christmas Eve - we are both agreed on that one.

Around the World in 80 days and Death in Paradise look interesting but only if DH is onboard and there is nothing else he wants to watch. I'm not massively fussed.

And I'll record all these - again will only watch if DH wants to too.
Don't Look Up - Christmas Eve
Mary Poppins Returns - Christmas Day
Their Finest - Christmas Day
Mr Holmes - Boxing Day
Judy - 30th
The Lost Daughter - NYE
Queens Speech

JingleRattles · 20/12/2021 02:25

I'm most looking forward to Call the Midwife & All Creatures Great & Small. I haven't delved into the TV guide yet though

Yes, thanks for the heads up about Motherland Christmas Special. That's definitely getting circled in my imaginary Radio-and-TV-Times.
