I like other things too but I’m fancying this kind of cosy watching. What else would you recommend?
Stuck at home and feeling miserable. Have Netflix, Prime and the usual channels. TIA!

Did you ever watch Larkrise to Candleford? That is definitely a cosy programme.

Corbally · 16/12/2021 23:27

@Eddielzzard

Yes Last Tango in Halifax was marvellous.

Corbally I watched the Favourite on Amazon, but had to rent it, it wasn't part of the Prime package unfortunately.

Thanks, @Eddielzzard.

McDonald and Dodds, light detective show set in Bath. Was on C4 I think. Quite tongue in cheek. Jonathan creek, quite old now but easy watching.

Riverlee · 17/12/2021 07:21

Following on from @Bin85 ‘completely different’ theme, the ‘Race Across the World’ series (x2) are lovely - teams of two travel/race from A to B passing through spectacular scenery, towns etc. it’s a cross between a reality show and travel show - entertaining and informative.

LoveGrooveDanceParty · 17/12/2021 07:22

I’ve recently been recommended Belgravia, which is by Julian Fellowes.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/12/2021 07:22

Emma series with Romala Gari and Johny Lee Miller

Giri Haji

IntermittentParps · 17/12/2021 14:19

Someone told me The Camomile Lawn is available on (I think) Channel 4. Haven't checked it out for myself though.
Also South Riding, Channel 5 I think. Early-ish lead role for Anna Maxwell Martin, about an idealistic young headmistress in the 1930s.

MrsLargeEmbodied, while Giri/Haji is one of the best things I've seen in a long time, it's not really in the same bracket as CTMW etc... Grin

MrsLargeEmbodied · 17/12/2021 18:18

no @IntermittentParps, but i loved it and i also enjoy CTMW, so we might have similar tastes Grin

Fair point, there is obviously some Venn diagram overlap there Grin
