I have just finished Schitts Creek and thought it was brilliant. Can anyone suggest anything else on Netflix that is feel-good and clever ?

Not sure if it's on Netflix, but 'Detectorists' is absolutely sublime.

Daragirl · 14/12/2021 23:21

Crazy Ex Girlfriend!!! It’s perfection!!

1000umbrellas · 14/12/2021 23:32

Mainly commenting to bookmark for myself, but Kimmy Schmidt for me too, Nora from Queens on iplayer and The Other Two.

GiveMeNovocain · 14/12/2021 23:36

Is arrested development on Netflix? That's great

NinaProudman2022 · 14/12/2021 23:38

Nothing quite compares but you might like:
Good Place
Grace and Frankie
Sex Education
Dead to me
Offspring

I love superstore. I watch it over and over and it still makes me laugh.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend is really fun, and takes a surprising turn.

Seinfeld is just fabulously, hilariously cynical, there’s nothing else like it.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is simply a masterpiece.

For those asking about Schitts Creek. I tried it once before and gave up after the second episode. But two of my friends said to not give up and give it at least 5 episodes. I gradually got into it and loved each series more than the last as the story and characters developed. I’m so glad I persisted as it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen

I fully agree with this!! The characters are arseholes at first, but they change and grow and become more rounded and nice.

Have you watched the making off Schitts Creek? Its on Netflix. Get tissues!

Parks and recreation
Superstore
Community

Opal8 · 15/12/2021 10:56

Oh and arrested development

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/12/2021 11:00

The whole of Frasier is now on 4.

UsefulZombie · 15/12/2021 11:05

Also agree that Parks and Rec and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend are Schitt's Creek level wonderful, both on Netflix

Notatwite · 15/12/2021 11:56

I’ve got a good list of things to try now thanks to all these recommendations. Thanks so much.
ThelovleyChebbyMcGee. I watched the making of Schitts Creek last night. They all seem such genuinely lovely people. You can see how sad they felt when they finished filming the last episode.

Just noticed Netflix have released season 6 of Superstore 🤣…The covid episodes are hilarious..I was a bit gutted they never mentioned Cheyenne’s friend “Corona” in anything though.

Cooroo · 16/12/2021 06:33

Another vote for Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Funny, clever and develops really powerfully.

gerispringer · 16/12/2021 06:38

Rita - is hilarious - it’s. Danish series about a very different teacher - so funny. Not really family viewing though.

Digestive28 · 16/12/2021 06:41

Have taken to watching random Schitts Creek episodes again as comfort TV. Nothing compares.

Covetthee · 16/12/2021 07:09

If you have prime, life in pieces is brilliant. Very funny and beart warming

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 16/12/2021 13:44

@thamesriviera

Shteisl
Shtisel is great. But I wouldn’t recommend it as a lighthearted type show. It can be very gloomy in places.

New Girl or Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt both have the fun, quirky vibe. Both shows have terrible pilot episodes though so take a couple of episodes to get into.

KateyKontent · 03/01/2022 17:50

I loved Schitts Creek.

TV programs I wish I'd never seen it so I could watch them again for the first time include:

Better Things (iPlayer, another slow burn).

Ted Lasso was fab (AppleTV).

Queer Eye (Netflix).

Just rewatching After Life to get ready for series 2.

This Is Us new series is out tomorrow.

I liked Superstore,The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, US Office, Community, Arrested Development, Community, Sex Education, Superstore, This Country, Life In Pieces, Brooklyn 99.

MargeSimpson00 · 03/01/2022 17:52

@Mrsacemay

Modern Family is the only series that has come anywhere close for me.
Came to say exactly this
ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 03/01/2022 17:53

I have a habit of constantly rewatching friends, brooklyn nine nine, shitts creek and superstore. I do want to watch the American office and parks and recreation too though!

Snozzlemaid · 03/01/2022 17:57

Modern Family's no longer on Netflix.
Dd and me just managed to watch series 9 before it was taken off at the end of the year.
