I'm looking forward to this, anyone else? Hopefully it won't take itself too seriously unlike a lot of things that Marvel Studios has put out recently!

Ellie Not too many, thankfully. I think just Ant & Wasp, then the two Avengers last ones. But with Strictly and Masterchef, and DH going out on a Tuesday evening (which isn't Masterchef night) we don't have a lot of days available.

Perhaps drags a bit during the Bishop family scenes but that's my only complaint.

Agree with this. I'd rather see more of the Barton clan, especially Linda Cardellini!

Agreed. I love his relationship with Laura. The polar opposite of every other superhero relationship, with honesty, communication and mutual respect. Plus, Linda Cardellini is terrific.

Watched both episodes this evening and loved it! Hawkeye is my favourite too.

Thought it was just the right balance of everything and so far easy to follow (I can get muddled in Avenger world).

Wasn't sure about Hailee Steinfeld before watching but I thought she was great, agree about the chemistry.

Currently watching with my cat. She was watching and seemed to be really into it. And then they started singing. She looked at me like this, turned around and went back to sleep….

Watched both episodes this evening and loved it! Hawkeye is my favourite too.

Thought it was just the right balance of everything and so far easy to follow (I can get muddled in Avenger world).

Wasn't sure about Hailee Steinfeld before watching but I thought she was great, agree about the chemistry.

I think Hawkeye is a favourite with all mums since he’s like superhero for mums specifically. Works full time in a good job without expecting recognition, mentors young colleagues without at any point being smarmy or creepy to them, and frequently does diy house renovations at home to a very high level to keep the farm house looking nice.

There was that tiny tiny blip of him sort of massacring a bunch of people when he lost his family, which seemed to have little bearing on the plot in the end, but he has great arms so we’ll let him off with that.

I just thought of a possible plot flaw…

Clint became Ronin because his family was lost yes? But if the avengers went back and undid the snap meaning his family wasn’t lost, then surely he would never have become Ronin?

No, the Avengers didn't undo the Snap, they brought back everyone who had been snapped away but were very clear that nothing else from that five year period was changed. So The Ronin (and Clint's horrific assassin mullet) remains part of history.

Still a bit worrying that nobody cared Hawkeye was up to that in his little sabbatical though. Bucky kills a few people (by MISTAKE via mind control) and they want to crucify him, Hawkeye goes on a murder rampage in Asia and gets the world’s worst haircut and is welcomed back like a favourite cousin.

But Hawkeye only killed bad guys in his global murder rampage (Clint didn't racially discriminate between organised crime gangs!). Nobody minded what Bucky had been up to until he tried to kill Captain America and then it came out that he'd killed Iron Man's mum and dad. If he hadn't done that nobody would have noticed or cared, in fact the Winter Soldier was just a rumour until Hydra deployed him in the middle of Washington DC.

Hi all - I've watched the first episode and saving the second to watch with DS tonight (who is current watching the first). I thought it dragged a bit and I admit I did use the 'skip ahead 10 seconds' button quite a few times to get to the good bits, but overall I like it.

Can't wait to watch the next episode. Hopefully there will be more bow & arrow action!

The Rogers musical made us laugh. Totally nailed the horror of musical theatre. 🤣 I envied Hawkeye’s ability to tune it out.

Watched both episodes tonight. I really liked it so far.

I don't understand why the tracksuit gang would even think Kate is the actual Ronin when 1, she's a kid, and 2, she's very obviously female. They clearly have history with Clint as Ronin so even if they had never seen his face they would surely know the difference between a stocky bloke and a slight woman.

I'm assuming the woman at the end is going to be the daughter of someone he killed.

Yes that was a cute little moment when the daughter realises he’s had his hearing aid off the whole time! I think it was also really good that they made him canonically deaf as he is in the comics. It adds something in my opinion.

I enjoyed episode 3 but would probably need to watch it again. It feels like about a week has passed since yesterday lunchtime!

Only Murders in the Building has an entire episode from the POV of a deaf person if that interests you.

To be honest this is another marvel situation that could easily be solved with a sit down chat though. It would be - you killed my sister, no I didn’t, oh I was given incorrect information. Sorry about that. Would you like to come to my place for Christmas and see some lovely photos I have of your sister with my children and meet my son who is named after her? Oh yes please.

Could be wrapped up easily and have a full final episode of Barton family Christmas cheer. But it’s been so enjoyable so far! Hoping we see more of Kate in the future.

Loved seeing a different side of Clint's wife.
What is going on there? Do you think she is or was Mockingbird? I'm not a comic expert but wasn't Clint married to her in the comics and fraught along side her?

Has anyone got any ideas about who the watch belonged to?

Mockingbird was in Agents Of SHIELD (Bobbi, played by Adrienne somebody), but that isn't canon in the MCU. It would make sense for it to be Laura. She's very knowledgeable and has contacts, and if I remember rightly it was her that raised the issue of the watch potentially being missing. Why would the Tracksuits be after her specifically though? Unless they had heard the owner of the watch could lead them to Ronin.

Yelena doesn't strike me as the sort to sit and have a reasonable chat, she's more acr first talk later/never :D Does anyone watch Titans on Netflix? They're even worse for fucking up situations that a sensible discussion would completely avoid.
