I know that episode six isn't up yet, but I've seen five so far and I still love it.
.. any other binge watchers ?

The knives were very scary : in real life he would have injured at least one of them I'm sure :(
It was nice that it ended on a positive note, but also they still had to do their ' time' so to speak too.

Cant wait for series 2, so many unanswered questions!

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2021 10:47

There were many loose ends
I'm sure that Spencer will do more damage to Greg.

I bet Frank flits off to Rio too !!
He isn't one to be tied down

Just finished episode 6. Fantastic, although lots of loose ends! Thought it was a great ensemble piece and one of the best things on TV for a while.

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2021 12:18

How are Janine and Liam related ? ( are they related .. ?)
Sometimes the family trees are hard for me to keep up with.
I wonder if Cindy 2 might show up now he is on the square ?
Who cares for Scarlett when Janine is at the pub working ? ..
Stacey is so screechy sometimes , she ' does my head in ' as they say

Wrong thread !!
😂
Ignore all that

Absolutely loved it!!! Can’t wait for series 2.

LoopyGremlin · 12/11/2021 21:02

I enjoyed it. Watched 1-5 in one sitting and then the last one today. Glad to hear there’s a second series!

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2021 21:22

Series 2 will be great.
Maybe Lady Gabby will hold her festival at the newly painted community centre?

superoz · 12/11/2021 21:46

Binge watched the rest. Really enjoyed it, there’s a few loose ends to tie up in series 2, I imagine will have to wait another year even though they were filmed back to back.

So enjoyed Christopher Walken singing Pussycat Dolls!

And The Rat credit at the end!

the80sweregreat · 12/11/2021 22:10

Walken had a surprisingly strong singing voice.
I guess they couldn't have him running about Bristol with the others at that point , so a Mai Tai in the local pub
was the way to go !

I wanted a little bit more to the finale. It was alright but not amazing.

StucklnAMuumuuCantGetOutOflt · 12/11/2021 23:25

I loved it. Am emotional atm anyway but it made me cry. Have loved the series and Stephen Merchant has done a great job directing it.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/11/2021 06:52

enjoyed that so much
agree some unresolved issues

KillingMeDeftly · 13/11/2021 14:36

I just finished it last night. Really enjoyed it and I liked how nothing was absolutely black and white eg even the villain had a back story with having to care for his dad etc.

But what was the point of hiring Claes Bang just to sound threatening on a couple of phone calls but never actually show up?

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2021 15:22

I was a tad disappointed to not see more of Claes Bang : maybe he'll be in series two a bit more ? Greg will have to work for him or something ?
I want to see the community centre all done up too!

OP posts:
KillingMeDeftly · 13/11/2021 15:40

I wonder how they managed to get Christopher Walken? I can just imagine him regaling the cast with tales of Hollywood in the 70s and 80s. Probably long before half of them were born!

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2021 16:00

They all looked a bit in awe of CW I thought.
Apparently, Stephen Merchant went to visit him and he made him an omelette!
The other writer, Elgin james is American , so maybe this helped too ?
I always imagine they all know each other in Hollywood ( merchant lives in the US too!)

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 13/11/2021 22:03

I thought it was fab! Watched episode today and it had a much pacier feel to it, less comedy more drama but a nice finish and enough loose ends to make season 2 interesting.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/11/2021 19:57

Absolutely loved this and can't wait for series 2!

Somebody on Twitter pointed out that Christopher Walken was basically reprising his role as Leonardo di Caprio's dad in Catch Me If You Can, where he was also called Frank. Terrific film, if you haven't seen it.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2021 14:50

I've seen ' catch me if you can ' and yes, he is like the dad in that !

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikespuppies · 15/11/2021 23:04

Loved the series but lots of unanswered questions!

What happened to the money? Did they all share it out? If it didn't go back to the drug dealer surely the big boss would still want someone dead? Or did the drug dealer go to prison?

What happened about the lawyers job? Am assuming he'd get sacked.

Thought the police were pretty shit that they couldn't prove that Esme shot spider, there must have been evidence all over the place. Although I appreciate it wouldn't have been a good ending for her to be arrested.

Sunflowers765 · 15/11/2021 23:42

What a great show! Best thing I've seen in ages can't wait for series 2. And I read that was actually a genuine Banksy Frank painted over! Genius.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 16/11/2021 07:00

how did they contact banksy to ask him to paint the rat?
