Did anyone else see this? I just don’t know where to start....

The first couple were absolutely desperate to be famous, that’s for sure!

Universe1969 · 26/10/2021 21:19

I just googled this and lasted a while five seconds before having to switch off

Beachybeach · 26/10/2021 21:24

We watched it before bed last night as nothing else was on (and I was slightly intrigued).

DP turned over in 5 minutes as he had enough.

The American’s the guy has obvious mummy issues and I agree with PP that the English woman was doing it for fame/money.

CurlsandCurves · 27/10/2021 07:54

I wonder if the British and American couples would be at odds over how they portray this.

The American couple said it’s in no way a sexual thing, although it is an integral part of their relationship. Whereas for the British couple it’s clearly a sexual thing as well as a money maker, same with the woman who did videos on her own.

The man in the British couple, I got quite domineering vibes from him. It definitely felt like he was the driving force behind it all.

Yes, he was definitely ‘off’ and very dictatorial/possessive.

Channel 4 gets more disgusting every year. My first threesome, fetish life styles, naked attraction. I can't stand channel 4 anymore it appeals to the lowest of the low.

Animood · 27/10/2021 14:32

So fucking grim. Had to turn off.

Yes I feel the same. They can come up with some good programmes sometimes, but it does feel that filler programmes are around weird fetishes and nakedness. They even manage to squeeze it into the SAS programme. It doesn't make me want to watch though, and I'm sure it's the same for others too. Just appeals to the few people who are a bit grim minded, so can't be great for ratings either.

I recall watching a programme years back who was tipped as a documentary about excessive consumerism - it wasn't - they just emptied the participants flats and made them walk around naked. They could have just gave them two sets of clothes, but no, they had to be naked (and any possessions they could retrieve were hundreds of meters from their home, so they had to run down the street naked). Utter bullshit, but was interesting to see C4 intellectualise nakedness and smut and doing it so badly. I do feel for the participants with these things, I think they get exploited and wonder if they provide any care after the programmes if there is lots of media attention.

I did say to OH the other day that we used to laugh at the weird and smutty programmes in other countries on that Chris Tarrant programme, but now we seem to be making them ourselves.

I’m still breastfeeding (strictly ONLY my 5 month old DS) and I’m watching through my fingers. I just can’t 🤢🤢

Absolutely. The programme on before this about kids in poverty was really well made and utterly heartbreaking. But it was doing what channel 4 do best, tackling relevant social issues.

This was car crash watch it because you can’t not ‘telly’.

The difference between the 2 programmes back to back...

Very weird and uncomfortable to watch. Everything I loved about breastfeeding - nurturing, the closeness, the protection etc.. being done to men with beards! Just wrong on so many levels!

stargirl1701 · 27/10/2021 20:41

C4 have always been like this! I remember watching The Word on a Friday night in the early 90s. The weight lifting penis is an enduring memory... 🤢
