Poor Rylan what happened?

Just read he had a divorce poor man. And then he broke down on the radio? What happened?

He's so lovely. I really hope he gets better soon.

Whatever has happened it seems he is trying to keep things private so that should be respected

He gave a statement a few months ago about it. Something to do with him wanting kids and his husband not wanting them/not being ready. He blamed himself for pushing the issue from what I read.

I like Rylan, hope he gets a good rest and takes time to mend himself. And has peace and quiet to do it.

I hope he is ok. I think he seems like a genuinely nice person. And this kind if thing can happen to anyone whether you're in the spotlight or not.

Wishing him well. It must be so tough going through such a personal event when you’re in the public eye. He seems like a very genuine man and I hope he finds happiness.

I love listening to him on radio 2 on a Saturday afternoon.

I find him quite endearing and I wish him well.. but I do struggle with the teeth.. why?

Divorce is horrid but most of a us have to take it on the chin and get on with it.
Struggle with kids/ school/ daily life etc why should he be different ?

Most of us aren't on the radio having to talk about it I guess? I understand what you mean, he's more privileged than a lot of people, but a little compassion for everyone costs nothing.

Being in the public eye and struggling is much harder than struggling privately.

I've got a huge crush on Rylan.

I really sympathise with him.

However, he admitted he made mistakes. Which, can mean unfaithfulness. Albeit, Rylan is keen to be a Dad and his husband didn't want any more children. I hope he has been able to have some sort of relationship with his step son throughout this.

It seems Rylan has moved into a new house, made some designer clothes purchases, been working out with a personal trainer and showing off his physique and has been joking about the use of dating sites.

He broke down and cried off air briefly last week during his radio show, prompting BBC bosses to offer him a year off work which he declined.

However, his latest remarks are that he's ok. He says he wasn't but he is now.

He says he would be a good catch to a prospective partner as he could get them a good deal on a car which is a jokey reference to his car selling website adverts.

He even owned up to getting a parking ticket ! Shows he's human, fallible and got his feet on the ground.

Rylan wanted to be a Dad. (So became step Dad to his stbxh's child.)
His stbxh was chasing fame. (Similar to Amanda Holden ? who knows ?) Maybe Ryland and stbxh were at cross purposes with each other when they married ?

Quite well documented that he broke up from his partner and is getting a divorce.

Rylan is very out there in terms of TV adverts etc but he comes across as one of the truly nice guys with a nice character. I hope he has support if he’s finding it tough going.

Actually I think this shines a fantastic light on the Beeb. It shows a huge amount of compassion and understanding for mental health crises that they were happy to offer that as an option.

When I had a breakdown brought on by stress at work I was bullied. Threatened with the sack and then had a hate campaigned waged against me til I ultimately resigned. I was in no fit state to pursue a legal attack on them for their abhorrent behaviour, but i wish I had.

@Terminallysleepdeprived I agree it was a nice gesture but a whole year I feel was an over reaction. A few months maybe, like fresh start in Jan etc much more appropriate. I guess not knowing the exact details of what happened maybe a year was appropriate though who knows.
