I discovered this on Amazon Prime a couple of weeks ago and have become a bit addicted. I've seen cycle 7 and 8, now on cycle 9.
But, it's pretty horrendous isn't it?!
I've been Googling what happened to...etc and other stuff about it.
The general view seems to be that the winners are seen as reality stars rather than models and don't do well at all post-show. The challenges are horrible.
The biggest shock for me was that Renee from season 8 is now a prisoner with a mohawk. She wasn't the nicest person in the show but I was blown away at how beautiful she was. She really couldn't look
So different 14yrs on.
But, I'll keep watching as, as I said, I'm addicted!

So many of the girls seemed very fragile and vulnerable, had awful childhoods and experiences.

I love the mixed sex series they did towards the end. Also agree that it really went downhill with the public votes.

I loved this when it was on.. I preferred Britain's Next Top Model though. I remember one season where the first photo shoot was a nude one and I thought it was so unfair. Some girls were only just finished school.
And I always thought they could easily pick a bad photo to get rid of a particular girl.

I think they decided who they wanted to win right at the beginning and went with it. Easy to manipulate a contestant into thinking they had a terrible shoot with a few mediocre pics in a pile.

Tyra was bloody awful, a complete bully.

Ya from what was said in the interviews it was sorta like that. And photos picked by producers and all this stuff.

The winner of the British invasion one Sophie also spoke about the prizes..or lack of prizes that she didn't get and all this.

Elle used to annoying me. Bit too whisperery. And the judges got a bit mean towards the end as well. Or came across less constructive.

It's the makeover episodes..some would look lovely. Others just hack hack hack hack hack.
