Toni Collette played Marcus's Mother and Victoria Smurfitt was her friend (Megan's mum). Toni COllette was in Sixth Sense and Victoria Smurfitt was in Ballykissangel amonst other things.

She's not rated highly enough imho - very talented and versatile actress.
