Anyone else watch the new version tonight? I was pleasantly surprised, I was kind of expecting not to know any of the music references because I'm old now and don't have a clue who most of the last lot of Brit award winners were, but they seem to be going for an older audience who watched it the first time round and it had a bit of a 90s vibe. I liked Greg Davies as the new host and Daisy May Cooper and Noel Fielding were good team captains. I will definitely be watching again.

Latest one was even worse than the first. Nothing any of them said was worth the reaction that DMC had (absolute hysterics at the lamest joke).

I think it would have been better if they'd just made a straightforward music quiz and called it something else instead of trying to revive Buzzcocks.

I think it's literally just DMC's laugh that is off putting. I enjoy the rest of the show but it's hard not to notice that she's overreacting to mildly funny comments, making them seem less funny than they actually were. I hope she calms down a bit.

Also, unlike the OP, I wish they'd mix in a bit of more modern music because I know recent pop more than the era they're going for. Wish it was more of a mix.

I don’t really think Daisy May Cooper is right for this, if I’m honest. She’s primarily an actress isn’t she, rather than a comedian, and I guess someone with a stand-up type background is probably a better fit for the format. Cackling at everything in an attempt to convey that “fun” is being had is not a substitute for actual comedy
(Although that said, I think the programme is probably scripted to within an inch of its life).
In its previous incarnation, I remember the line-up round could be pretty cruel.

Yes! Roisin Conaty would be brilliant. I don’t know if DMC is actually like the way she is portraying herself or if she’s just playing up because her best moment on taskmaster was when she was so over the top angry with Richard Herring and she thinks people want to see more ott behaviour. It is weird though.

I thought the second episode was better. Loved YungBlud.

Daisy May Cooper is winding me up so much in the 2nd episode, i'm watching it right now. She'e ruining it by hamming everything up.The intro round is funny without deliberately screwing it up, making it harder to guess. And the hysterical laughter is awful. Stop it woman!

I even did a search on twitter to see if others felt the same way. They do.

I've made it to episode 4 and needed to see if other people were feeling the same about daisy may cooper. She just ruins it all with just shouting and cackling.
I thought last episode she had settled down and wasnt as bad but no shes just awful again.
Really disappointing as it could be good otherwise. Not as good as the original. It feels too slow and staged but would be watchable

It's "alright" but the mindless US-style canned laughter grates a bit.

Greg Davies could be in danger of overexposure too, with Taskmaster et al.

Daisy is incredibly annoying on this and I don’t think is adding anything, other than a load of cackling.

She's coming across badly I think.
Hamming it up and sadly becoming quite cringy.
I love Noel though so will carry on watching.

I'm afraid I agree about Greg. Love him but he's become overexposed now

I loved Lamarr and Simon Amstel . I miss the old style lots - it was wonderfully savage . Cannot bear DMC she's completely put me right off .

Daisy is doing my head in now too. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt to start with because I absolutely love her in This Country but the constant hysterical laughter at every little thing is getting on my nerves. Still love Noel and I think Greg is doing a decent job as host.

I wager she won’t be on the next series if there is one. I do love Greg and Noel but the whole show feels a bit throw away.

God, Daisy screeching away laughing when something is mildly funny is REALLY grating in my nerves- otherwise it's good.

Sadly I don't think there's enough coke involved in this series

Just watched episode 7 and DMC was acting very strangely. Manic laughter at nothing and grabbing and shaking her boobs. I hope she's OK!

Honestly I hope they find someone to replace Daisy. She truly is awful screaming every time someone says anything remotely funny.

I just don’t get why the director didn’t tell her to tone it down a bit. It must’ve become clear pretty early on that her constant fake cackling is ruining the show.

She ruined it for me. Big loud fake guffaws and table slapping. Would be a great show if she closed her beak.
