Hello,

Has anyone watched and finished Clickbait on Netflix? What did you think? Who did you think was the killer?

@ThisIsJeopardy

Finished this last night. It was enjoyable and kept my interest, but the ending was so disappointing.

A mystery with a twist is fun when it turns out that the culprit was there all along, hiding in plain sight, and the viewer can think back on little hints you might have picked up on, but didn't. Instead with this, we got seven episodes of character development and red herrings (good), and then a character we've barely seen and a brand new storyline, introduced at the end just to offer a neat solution. What lazy shit. Nothing clever about it, so what's the fun in that?

That's exactly how I felt about it too

Did I miss any sort of explanation for the sister ominously adding to the views on the video repeatedly at the end of her episode?

charliebear78 · 19/09/2021 10:36

I thought that too at the time..but think she may have just been refreshing the page to see the numbers? I don't know enough about tech though so could be wrong!

charliebear78 · 19/09/2021 10:37

The ending annoyed me too.
would have rather it had been anyone else really, and I cannot believe even after what happened that they would have gone that far to cover up her actions.

Mamainthemaking · 19/09/2021 10:43

It was okay. Very predictable. Not good, not bad; just average.

Darkchocolateandcoffee · 19/09/2021 21:41

Quite liked it. Pia was an interesting female lead as she isn't conventionally stunning, but I agree I found it hard to believe that the handsome pious Muslim cop would fall for her.

Bonusjonas · 20/09/2021 13:02

Why did Dawn have the photoshopped photos of Nick and Emma? I didn’t understand that part. Did either she or Emma make them to show to the other what they would have in the future?

Dizzywizz · 26/09/2021 21:56

@Bonusjonas I’ve just finished this and I wondered that as well! And agree with others disappointed with the ending

SusannaOwens · 07/10/2021 11:18

Loved this, didn't work out the killer, as I'd missed the clue of the only person Nick told about the affair.
Really like Pia's character, flawed, quirky and realistic, unlike a lot of glossy TV heroines.
Was I the only one who felt a bit sorry for the killer though? (Bizarre, I know!🤦)

charliebear78 · 07/10/2021 11:45

No I felt sorry for Dawn too.

SusannaOwens · 07/10/2021 11:58

No, it was Ed I felt sorry for, although Dawn a bit too.

charliebear78 · 07/10/2021 13:44

Sorry I misread your message-Ed being the killer of course! Hmm I didn't feel sorry for him-not when he was willing to kill a child.
