Can't put my finger on what makes me feel this. I thought it was a BBC thing until a few minutes in and then ai thought, wait, these are American accents.

@groundcontroltomontydon

the lack of video calls from people perfectly capable and who had the technology did my head in I watch Catfish, people really will consider themselves to be dating - or even engaged to - someone they met online but have never met irl, video chatted with or even spoken with because they want to believe what is almost always a perfect fantasy. Nev and Kamie would have solved the case in episode 1!
It was more that Ethan and the girl exchanged photos and cos he questioned her identity, he had no option other than seeing her in person, but they both happily then got Emma on video call. The same woman that never thought to get the person she was in a relationship on a video call either.

I believe what you say about the catfishing happening with no video calls. But here we have the same people having a video call for one purpose but not doing it when they need to confirm the identity of someone. I mean how big a red flag would it be if someone wasn't able to meet or video call?

I'm confused about something, and hopefully someone here can help clarify.
Was Nick ever on a dating site, or was it solely the work of Dawn, the admin lady? It's just that when she was syncing his phone and laptop - when he first started at the school - some messages from another woman (Mandy?) popped up on his phone.

Yeah I wasn't clear on that either

@ohthatbloodycat and @Whattheflecker, I think he was on one originally but he hadn’t replied to the Mandy girl. So he was a bit of a wrong‘in but not as bad as originally portrayed

@Dizzywizz

That was my impression and thanks!

Most of the main actors are American, but the houses didn't look like houses in the US, probably because of being filmed in Australia. I really liked it. I binged it in a day, forcing myself to stay up so I could see who the culprit was. I didn't guess it until the last episode.
I thought the streets and houses looked Australian in the first episode. You can even tell the light looks different (I’m in Australia), Sure enough it was filmed in Melbourne.

@Doingtheboxerbeat

Just finished it, nice ending. Lol at Sophie almost getting canned by Home and Aways Pippa, I guess it really was Australian.
Oh God thank you for that, I was wracking my brains as to who the actress was. She had that lovely kind Pippa face!
