I'm still dwelling on the petal pool.... did they lower them in on hoists? Did they stand there in the pool while the petals were added around them? Did they wade in amongst the petals then have to have the petals tied up?

Was the water warm? Surely not hot as the petals would have wilted. Cold would be infeasible but warm would feel like wee.

I'm not happy.

I don’t think Liberty is needy at all. You can’t use the argument that she’s expecting too much from Jake and it’s not “real life” to say I love you after 7 weeks when Jake was the one to do the big making you my gurrrrlfriend show! If he felt strongly enough to give her that cheap ass bracket which apparently was a really big and special thing to do and he wanted her to be his girlfriend then he 100% could say something affectionate / about his feelings for Liberty over 3+ weeks after he made her his gurrrrlfriend

He has never said anything affectionate to her or about her. He’s never comforted or reassured her when she’s worried about how she looks or in response to his video clip. The only time he’s told her anything was when he was backed into the corner like some caged beats who realised his dreams of 50k won on a showmance we’re going up in flames in front of this eyes

Jake put the relationship on a more serious level with the whole boyfriend and girlfriend nonsense. If he was feeling as some posters have claimed then he should have done what other couples have done and taken it slow mo labels

He never compliments her though. He's not exactly attentive and never has been.

It's most odd that he asked her to be his girlfriend so early on and just looks like he was doing it to win the show.

Is Faye really 22? she looks 35 ish

I think the other boys in there are particularly affectionate and tactile, showering their girls with compliments etc. Which will make it even harder for Liberty to not be getting that from Jake

And Jake has got the flack he’s got (on a level with Faye) because he clearly had a whole game plan to win. As soon as the new girls showed no interest in him (and he was open to new people he told the boys) he decided on the OG couple who become girlfriend and boyfriend to win. He had it all planned out and obviously has prepared in advance with the bracelets etc.

Now you can argue but it’s a game show and he’s in it to win. Yep fine but it was clear early on that Liberty really liked him and developed feelings for him. Instead of being honest with her he played with her emotions and feelings (lots of clips of him
Pushing her to say she’s caught feelings for him and other bits but instead of saying anything back he just laughs at her and then mocks her to the boys) and lead her on completely to believe that he felt about her the same way she clearly felt about him! Including stupid stunts like making her his Gf after 4 weeks.

And in amongst all that lots of us picked up on little red flags like his controlling behaviour, his constant put downs and withholding of affection so she doubts herself worth, dismissing and minimising any concerns she has so that she believes she’s “over reacting” even when others say no you’re no lib, putting in a show for the camera and stopping her doing things (holding her back when she wanted to go to Kaz) and emotionally manipulating her using but your my girlfriend why would I make you my girlfriend if I didn’t care whenever anything happens that she questions.

Liberty is needy and attention seeking? Really??

She's definitely needy. She doesn't want to end things in the slightest. She's said it to try and shock him into being the bf she wants and to fight for her.

I've no idea why people seem to think she's strong and assertive as she really isn't, it's all talk and she never follows it through.

I've been in a relationship like this before when young. He wore me down with his insecurities and jealousy. He'd constantly end things to keep me on my toes. In the end during one of his breaks I met somebody else and we've been together for 15 years. He's still alone and lives with his mum at 40.

I do think Liberty is needy yes. Or at least too needy for the type of boy Jake is. If my husband had to be reassured that I found him attractive every 5 minutes we would never have got off the ground. Some people find a more independent companion far more attractive.

And I disagree that Jake has never shown her any affection. He's brusque, crude and gruff (which may not suit Liberty) but he was genuinely pleased to see her when he got back from Casa Amor and I've never seen him say anything but nice things about her to any of the other contestants apart from the one clip from very early days which, for reasons best known to themselves, the producers chose to plant in film night.

I think they didn't want J&L to win because it would be a little dull and predictable. So much more fun for them if they can showcase a complete turnaround in a broken relationship, all sweetness and light and surrounded by rose petals.

Well, yes. Bad luck for him that he didn't find a girl who saw it the same way. Bad luck for Liberty too I guess - but it IS a game show and it's an extreme long shot that you'll meet someone you'll actually stay with afterwards.

I particularly watched for it last night and it happened more than once when they were in the decommissioned diesel tank. Fair enough they are also shown smooching but it makes me question her true feelings just a little bit.

Also we don't see Tyler's negging now. It was quite frequent at first. Has he stopped doing it or are we just not being shown?

Which brings me to Kaz. I've always liked her [squealing aside] but I'm not convinced that she's had feelings for any of the guys.

I noticed this about Faye. She was actually leaning back while he was kissing her and looked really awkward when he asked her to be his girlfriend.

Disappointed about the spoiler re Jake and Liberty tonight. I thought their announcement was that they were going to stay in to the end as a friendship couple. But I would have liked to have watched it to find out!

I reckon they've left as he's said he wants to show he's serious about her and it's not about the show.

I think it was the lack of communication. Liberty was testing Jake. She finished it with him because she wanted him to fight for her and give her all the complements she's craved. Jake though well if she's not into me what can I do.

I think they both like each other.

What is negging?

Glad Liberty woke up and smelled crap instead of coffee! About time. I don't think she is needy, I think she knows what she wants from a relationship and Jake isn't giving it to her. She likes / loves Jake as he is and isn't reciprocating in the same way. Can't think of better reasons for her to end things.

I thought Kaz looked stunning and I continue to think Tyler is playing it for the win. Don't think he cares about Kaz at all and give them less than 5 minutes outside of LI. Their date was desperate in sooooooo many ways, other than Kaz looking gorgeous.

Could barely watch Faye & Teddy in that pool of dead flowers. Jesus, some poor sod ripped the petals off a million roses to create that scene - what a waste. In LI parlance, I had "the ick" the whole way through it and was cringing watching. Something really, really off there.
